What a beautiful property! Although it takes some effort to get to The Serai and you are a fair distance from Jaisalmer, all that is forgotten once you are at the welcome tent and received (with champagne) by the friendly welcome staff. Staying in luxury tents is a great experience - a wonderful way to relax and reflect. Have chai outside the tent as you watch the sunrise and see beautiful birds. Sample delicious food (Indian and western) cooked up by the kitchen. Star gaze - and you can, because the skies are clear and there's very less light pollution in the desert. Visit the organic farm in the property - kids love seeing the chickens and cows and picking fresh veggies. The spa and pool is great.

The team arranged a sunset dune visit and camel ride for us - what a great experience!

All in all, a great getaway! Spend 3 nights to actually get the feeling of having enjoyed the property.

The Serai is a nice venue which I visited in December 2017 with friends for a private event. It is a bit isolated from the regular road and the ambience is great. But overall it was a decent experience.

Recommend upgrading to a room with a private pool - even in the winter. Being in the hot tub at night under candlelight and starlight is an incredible experience. They do a great job making you feel like you are the only ones at the property. Service is among the best we have experienced. No schedule - you do things as you please and they accommodate. The service is the perfect mix of attending to your needs, friendly but also maintaining distance and not always being in your face when you want some alone time. Other places could learn a few things from the team here!

The dinners were also incredibly special. All private and in surprise locations each evening. Makes the visit extra special.

Just a heads up - this place is not in the dunes. It is in the bush so if you're expecting to pull up to a resort in the middle of the dunes just want to let you know it is not that. They do have dunes about 45min away where you can do the Sundowners excursion though (strongly recommend).

Room Tip: Private pool a must!

We stayed in Serai for 3 nights with 2 more families. We had 5 kids amongst all of us. It’s a very friendly and welcoming place. Food was very good and so was hospitality. Tents are quite lavish and we enjoyed those very much. However, when we departed we were charged Rs. 2000 per person per night towards nature conservation charge. We were told it’s a govt charge which I have never heard of. I don’t think this was fair. I would like to warn travellers to ask about it upfront. Unfortunately we didn’t check our bill properly and realised it much later than the time we checked out. After paying such expensive room rent this charge wasn’t warranted.

My son celebrated his 40th birthday here last week He Booked the entire camp for 3 days. Invited friends from all over to celebrate together. The Sujan Team did us proud. Delicious breakfasts, lunches, magical evenings in the bush, camel rides and of course our theme- The Oscars!!!! A perfect place for such a celebration ..
The courtesy of the staff and the comfort of the luxury tents is mind boggling as it’s in the middle of nowhere. Very very fortunately there is a daily flight from Delhi to Jaisalmer and a 40 minute ride to The Serai .
I recommend this place to anyone who wants a wow experience to remember! Go in a group is what I say!!! It’s a trifle expensive but the memories are certainly worth it.....
