The tradition to take a holiday break on 15th August continued this year as well as it arrived on extended weekend. The challenge to plan the trip was that we had only three days this time and hence the possibility of making a long trip was totally eliminated. The food of thought was to visit a peaceful serene place and hence Mount Abu was disqualified in all respects. After lot of research it was decided to visit a very small town on hill called “Kumbhalgarh”.
The fort of Kumbhalgarh was built by Rana Kumbha and is at 3,500 feet (1,100 meters) on a high hill. The fort has got a 36-kms long wall which is supposed to be the second longest after the Great Wall of China. The fort is a majestic piece of architecture and looks massive from below.
Kumbhalgarh is a small sleepy town that is still untouched by the travel mafia. In totality there are only 3-4 hotels having a maximum of 120 rooms in total. Apart from the visit to the Fort and jungle safari there is not much you have to do in terms of tourism. Its the calm and serene atmosphere which help you relax and makes this place so special
