we stayed just one night there.the deluxe room was very small.it would begin and end there.then we were shifted to kush mahal, which was decent enough with a balcony which had a bed in it,where one can relax and have food.that was the best part. The rooms and windows had the olden days pictures and carvings which made it look beautiful.the hotel is in the heart of the city.If u want to just explore and have a peaceful time, then this is the best place and yes it also had a pool.

We stayed in a lovely suite, with "museum furniture" (but very comfortable bed indeed!), a balcony overlooking the garden, and plenty of space. The staff was helpful, the garden is very pleasant, and the location very good (easy to go to the City Palace). Bathroom are a bit too "museum-like" for my taste, but anyway, it was clean and with hot water...The access to the top floor restaurant needs serious painting.
Good value for money

Room Tip: Suite #2 is great

Rangniwas palace hotel.... Udipur
I felt like I was sent back in time to the 1800's as a British Colonel and this was my extremely comfortable quarters for the next few years.. Our room #2 had it's own balcony, soaring ceilings, brass bed, changing room and one of the biggest bathrooms I have ever been in.  In the bathroom was a urinal, toilet, bidet, squat toilet, shower, and separate bath tub!  The marble floors, old furnishings, and comfortable bed were great..... But unfortunately this was not the 1800's and tuk tuks with incessant horns have been invented since then The hotel backs up to a very busy street and intersection and if you have been to India you will know that the drivers honk just about as often as they breathe especially around corners and intersections.  We didn't spend any time in the small garden, slightly exposed pool or their restaurant....  A final note of inconvenience was that they do not take credit cards or have Internet service and we were informed that check out was 1000 not 1200 as is usual in quality hotels.  If you sleep soundly and like to carry large amounts of cash for the owners money schemes I would recommend this hotel. If you are not used to noisy street traffic and like to have some options on paying your bill I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is set in an old haveli and is very atmospheric with a real sense of history. It also has a swimming pool - a real bonus at this price! Plump for one of the suites with lovely balconies or window seating. The downsides are tired looking bathrooms and the hotel is a bit of a walk (about 15 mins) from where all the restaurants and lake is in Udaipur.

We stayed in a small suite for 3 nights. This place is lovely and quiet with helpful staff and a good restaurant. The pool and garden are beautiful, the beds were comfy and the rooms clean. They have an ayurvedic massage service which is good quality despite being tucked away in a dingy, dark hut at the end of the garden. The hotel is within a short walk or tuktuk ride from the centre of the town and the palace.
The only negative was the poor hot water system (apparently solar powered) - we never got anything more than lukewarm water.

Probably the best 'low cost' option if you are travelling on a tight budget in Udaipur. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms. I highly recommend it.

Booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. This is an erstwhile palace and the room had old world charm - high celings, ornate beds and furniture, swings, large mirrors in the bathrooms and so on.The property is well maintained, and the staff very pleasant.
