We booked a room at Coonoor Club for a trip during April 2017.
Its truly a gorgeous club & we were given a very large room with a huge bathroom as well.
Coming to the service, firstly the staff struggle with language, just about 1 or 2 know English. Rest all communicate only in Tamil. They do make an effort though. The staff that did know English took really good care of us. So that was a great.
We didn't have much for food since we ate out, but the little that we did have for dinner & breakfast was good enough. Nothing fancy. You have to be appropriately dressed (as per club rules) to eat in the dining area. Our travel clothes were all we had so we ordered room service.
If you have kids ask for rooms at the lawn area (room 6) so that the kids can play just outside the room in the lawn & you can also get a good view of the valley & the Kapoor & Sons house (McIver's) The room does not have a balcony.
Carry toiletries if you are particular because all they provide is a small Hamam soap. The club has no pool since the temperature is rather cool at Coonoor to take a dip.
Overall a comfortable stay though nothing to do at the property at all. One or 2 nights is just manageable at the property. I wouldn't stay there if it were for more days. Could get kind of boring.
