My first visit post the lockdown . The location of the property is amazing. A little tricky to spot, but if you call them, they will guide you. There is sufficient parking space , the approach road though is very bad in condition.
This wonderful resort is located in Kurumbadi, Burliyar area (On the way to Coonoor from Coimbatore) amidst a spice plantation. A therapeutic feast for the eyes , thick dense forest with hills at a distance and pure clean look of the trees with birds, the native malabari squirrel and of course the monkeys nesting and feasting. It is dotted with numerous Spice and Fruit Trees like nutmeg and jackfruits.
Quite close to the highway so disturbance of truck horns and sometimes noisy trucks when you walk in the property or in the balcony disturbs the tranquility of the place.
The rooms / cottages are spaced out at different levels of the property. Rooms are luxurious, spacious and well stocked up. Phone signals are weak/null but wifi is available. Stayed in the Suite Room quite close to the Reception Area overlooking the Hills and the swimming pool. For rooms further away, there is a Golf Cart to ferry guests to & fro .
The property provides all meals in the package , the restaurant is managed by Mr. Martin , a very efficient person. There is a wide variety of cuisine served but taste could have been better. One of the Chef Mr. Bablu always called upon us to check if anything was required. Infact, we had a complaint with one of the food item and Mr. VASU, the GM here , promptly enquired about it and assured the corrective actions be taken. I saw Mr. Vasu actively engaging with all the guests and smoothly running the entire property. Special mention about the tea shop in the resort, the guy over there amazed us with the speed of service. Hot Bajjis to go with the Masala Chai or Coffee were delivered almost instantly.
There is a gushing stream running through the periphery of the property. We spent a happy morning lazing at the stream & waterfall. The Infinity Swimming Pool added to the great experience. There are lot of activities like spice garden, bird watching, campfire to keep you engaged. However, the SPA being non-operational was a big let-down.
Went for Spice Plantation and Bird Watching tours with the Naturalist - Mr Vishwa. His enthusiasm , subject matter expertise and narration kept us spellbound during the entire activity. Mr Vasu also obliged us with a Night buggy ride and it was quite exciting.
You may try their Souvenir Shop for Home-grown spices.
We just loved the hospitality of the entire staff, they were very humble, courteous and passionate about their work . My experience for 2 nights has been nothing short of amazing !
