Basic facilities at affordable cost

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 1, 2016
Ideally situated near the railway station. Relatively clean, but could do with more careful dusting as fine dust was sticking to the headboard and TV. Bathrooms ware clean but without clothes hanger. Rates range from 600,800 and 1300 without tax.

I have booked this Hotel via Yatra. My in laws checked in the Hotel and after a while the hotel personals tried to get money from in laws who were senior citizen citing that they don't have any affiliation with Yatra. When it was informed by Yatra had paid them. The person again said that they want the coupon discount back since the Hotel doesnt provide any discounts. Where as the coupon discount availed at Yatra was a bank discount. They desperately try to cheat you and charge you more. I believe they tried this act because the checked in people were senior citizens with limited knowledge on online bookings.

The bed was comfortable enough, location was good& it had a lift. Nothing grand about it. No mosquito net on room window which looked a little too closely at the wall opposite, so very little light. Bathroom dank& in need of a good scrub! Very noisy in the morning from a generator somewhere in the near vacinity.

Basic accommodation, relatively cheap at 660R. Two very narrow beds pushed together to make one not very comfy bed. Bit dirty and grimy, but the light in the bathroom was so dim you (thankfully) couldn't see much in there. Bucket shower with lots of hot water.
Worse thing was the noise - it was LOUD and constant....traffic noise and corridor noise throughout the night. The lady on reception was friendly, others were indifferent. We asked for toilet roll and were told they didn't provide it - they pointed us to a nearby shop! Also didn't have any top sheets/covers. One of the guys was outside our room on check out and said "check out?....tips?...." we're not sure what he wanted tipping for!?

We arrived early in the morning, were told a double room was 660 INR for a double room with fan, so we thought, great, the sheets looked clean so might be ok, the bathroom wasn't that great and we had to have bucket washes, and it was a noisy hotel, but that was manageable.

Biggest problem was the beg bugs. Woke up with almost a hundred bites, when I told reception they did come and change the sheets about an hour later, but there was no apology.

We were not told that we had the room for 24 hours, so presumed it was a 10 o'clock check out at the earliest. When I went to reception to inquire about this on the day of leaving, the angry staff told me 'check in 6.30, check out 6.30, you leave now. You check out now.'. That is fine if that is a rule, but I have never encountered this before in my years of travelling so surely they would mention it at check in? No. Horrible. They then proceeded to tell one of the room porters to tell us to leave again. At least he did offer us a cup of tea or coffee. And I suppose it is lucky we did want to leave as soon as possible anyway.

Room tip: Go to one of the other million hotels on that road, there is plenty.
