Hotel is 5 minutes walk from railway station, (parallel Road). About a km to Meenakshi Temple. Decent rooms. Opp to hotel is famous Chennai silks and no dearth of shopping. Breakfast is good. Basement car parking is available. Surrounding lot of restaurants are available. Bathroom can be more cleaner. Suggest them to give water bottle. Lobby can be made more exciting.
I recently stayed in this hotel with my family.
Check in experience was pathetic, we were checked in by a guy who just handed over the access cards, and no words at all.
We were given rooms on the 6th floor, 2 rooms we took, none of the things seem to work. To name a few:
- Wifi didn't work
- Locking the room from inside doesnt work. It can still be opened from outside. After calling the facilities person, came to know we need to again swipe the card from outside to lock them. Quite unsafe huh!!
- Hot water knob was broken.
- Wifi didn't work
- Electrical plug point was locked and didn't work. We had to call the facility person each time to unlock and plug the chargers.
- Car parking - very narrow space, and bit challenging to park bigger vehicles, could see lot of paint colors on the wall made by vehicles hitting the wall.
- Old style TVs in room. they works on and off. Picture quality pathetic.
Overall a very horrible and terrible experience. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, you can find a better hotel with facilities for the same price.
accomodation is good . But room size must be more for 4 members . room service is good. location is close to railway station. The hospitality is good. Travel service facility and maintaining timings is good
We happened to be there on 25 th march 2016 and stayed there for a day. Nothing much seems to have changed since our last visit some time back.
This hotel is located close to the meenakshi temple in a very best road. It is just five minutes walk from the railway station. Rooms are very dull looking and lack maintenance. The room that I got had tarnished mirror, broken air con control, balcony littered by doves. Bath fittings are very ordinary and not work well at all.
Service is not satisfactory. I requested them to set the TV channels right which they did not do.
If you value location over everything, this could be a good one. Other than this there is not much to say about. Hotel needs maintenance badly.
Hotel Chentoor is located very near to the Madurai Railway Junction and Arulmigu Meenakshi Temple. Economical tariff but comfort is limited to the rates. Staff are courteous and helpful. Rooms have less ventilation and lighting is poor as the lights are located in places where we do not need. Cleanliness is less than average. Very little moving space in the rooms. Hot water is available only in the morning. Food quality is average. Chennai Silks is located just opposite to the hotel and those who travel with families need to be careful about the temptation of heavy shopping.
