Amidst the dense deodar forest nd away from the hustle bustle of the city, the resort exceeded our expectations...
The rooms were spotlessly clean nd the courtyard very relaxing nd fresh. Taking in the fresh morning air revitalised the soul.
The service was prompt nd efficient nd the food freshly cooked. since it is not a 24-hour restaurant, one doesnt get a menu card as such to choose from; but yet there was a good variety in every meal. The staff did not give any chance of complaint, instead were very helpful...
the connectivity to the tourist spots of mussoorie is also good...
The entire stay was extremely good. It had been days after we got such a sound sleep nd a fresh atmosphere....
Me along with the other family members would love to "REVISIT AND RELIVE THE RAJ EXPERIENCE"...and would definitely suggest you to do the same...
I can assure you that it would never fall from your expectations!

My husband and I moved to this hotel after we realised the one we'd booked into was a dump. It is just off the main road coming into Mussoorie, so there is a little street noise, mainly trucks. We stayed in one of the rooms opening out onto the courtyard. It was just lovely: spotlessly clean, comfortable, cosy and just what we wanted. We barely saw any staff which suited us fine, and the view from the courtyard over the hills is just sublime. It has charm and character, but is also maintained to high standards, yet isn't fussy. It is good value for money and I would recommend it highly.

“Karma Vilas is a magical place. The forest and the location of the property insulate it from the noise of this touristy town. Karma Vilas does look all British & elegant with its Brick red reception, to the garden area with it’s antique cast iron furniture. The ambience too, inspite of the grandeur of the building itself, is comfortable. It’s a kind of place you could move in to for a week and laze around in your shorts, just reading. The food is tasty and just like home-cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karma Vilas.

I stayed in Karma Villas for two nights, from 30th July to 31st, the hotel is nothing like the reviews below, it was off season and the hotel was completely empty, I had booked the deluxe rooms and on arrival we were upgraded to the royal orchid rooms which was great, but that's where the good part ends, we made booking from clear trip and were promised a WiFi access, there was no WiFi, in fact there were frequent power cuts and you wont be able to watch TV or have hot water if there is one, most annoying thing was that there is some construction activity going on besides the hotel and in daytime if you have decided to stay in the hotel itself the noise from the construction activity is quite distracting, also the labour working along the hotel can see right inside the hotel and when you go to and from the hotel it becomes a little uncomfortable with females.

Another problem is food, you cannot get what you want to eat hours before placing an order(I'm not saying read the pamphlet you get when you book), also the condition of the rooms is not good, they are not clean, curtains are dirty and the sheets are not spotless(it should be this hotel is not cheap), few good things which I can now remember:

Staff is excellent and tries to help wherever it can, hotel is a bit far from mall road which was a good thing for me and the taxi only charges 100 bucks to drop and pick from hotel, another thing you can order from any rest. in the mall road, they will deliver and you can have the food here, also the view is nice from the hotel balcony.

all in all just Average.

Room Tip: get the royal orchid room

Karma Vilas, with it's old world charm completely bowled us over. With an impressive colonial bungalow and large rooms with excellent service, it was truly "Re-live the Raj Experience". One could laze around the property for days, doing nothing, just soaking in the place and enjoying being in the middle of nature. Karma Vilas has an excellent location, away from the hustle-bustle yet just 1 km before the city. A must visit place!!!!
