Wonderful experience- visited the huge market in Klungkung barely touched by tourism, before heading to their beautiful family home with an amazing outdoor kitchen. 9+ recipes made, all with new techniques and flavours. Pick up and drop off from our villa. Couldn't recommend more.

We did the vegetarian cooking course with three people and we had a great time! We had a lot of fun exploring the market and the rice fields. The food was delicious and we learned a lot about balinese food. Not did we only learn about food but also our teacher Wayan told us a lot about the balinese culture and life in general.

Great day first going to the biggest market, then going into the farm ground to pick the veggies and then to cook it all together with the staff team. Best food you will see in Bali!

Forget technology, modern appliances and fancy cutlery and kitchen utensils. Everything they used in this cooking class was sustainable! From our coconut bowls and cups to our wooden cutlery and kitchen utensils. We were picked up by Jeroo from Padma Resort (we stayed quite far from Central Ubud but they didnt mind this!). He told us that it was just my partner and I and our son for the day - such an unforgettable private experience. First he drove us to Klungkung market, East Bali- one of the largest markets in Bali. You can find anything from household goods, an array of fruit and vegies (many we hadn't seen before) and like everywhere in Bali, tonnes of Hindu ceremony offerings. Jeroo then drove us to his family home in Sideman where he showed us around on his family's organic farm, basically all our ingredients used was sourced from his farm. It was an extremely chilled experience, Jeroo was fantastic with our 7yr old son and got him involved by making him work for his lunch! It was amazing and it was our son's favourite part of the trip!! (That's a biggie for us!) Our little guy got right into the giant mortar and pestle, chopping veggies, waiting for the passionfruit to fall off the roof to collect, and played with the friendly family dog!

If you have kids and want to get away from all the hustle and the technology and get them to appreciate life itself, this is highly recommended! I really can't reiterate this enough.

This place is as old school as they can get. The stove is operated by wood(fire) and the heat is controlled with them either removing wood or blowing into the fire with a bamboo pipe to intensify the heat. This was truly the real deal and is traditional Balinese cooking at its finest. I didn't find this cooking class as structured as others, it's totally chilled out but this is what I enjoyed most.

We did the vegetarian cooking class as I am vego, however I did tell Jeroo that my partner and son weren't and he just added in the chicken satay sticks which they used charcoal coconut husks to cook them over!

This was honestly the highlight and best experience of our trip. We'd love to stay here in the village next time if we were allowed!

Signed up for the non-vegetarian class and it was really good. Brought to a local market, and then walked through the farm to pick some vegetables to be used in class later. Owner let us have our hands in preparation of the various dishes, but everyone in the class was only in charge of certain portions of the prep and cooking process of each dish. It's not like other cooking classes I've attended in Chiangmai where you are taught to prepare a dish on your own from start to end. But overall it was still a very fun experience, and most importantly, the food that came out was really delicious that I had to have second helpings :p Owner also let us bring back some of the dessert (black rice pudding with coconut milk) which was a nice touch as well.

Worth going if you like food and want to have a farm-to-table experience in Bali. Would take up almost your day as the class starts at 8 am and ends at 2 pm. If you stay in Ubud, by the time they drop you off, it would probably be around 3 pm.
