Just spent a week at the Bali Rani Hotel in Tuban and were very pleased with our accommodation and the amenities. The deluxe rooms are of a good size and quality. The location of the hotel is great with both the Discovery Plaza Shopping centre and Waterbom park nearby and Kuta is just a short walk . The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful with any queries you may have. Our group ranged from a toddler to teenagers and mums and dads and we all certainly enjoyed our stay, the buffet breakfast had a varied selection of hot and cold foods in the dining room located beside the pool. We have stayed at some other larger hotels in Legian & Tuban but have found they can be quite noisy - we would stay at the Bali Rani again for sure.

We were very pleased with this hotel. We had a deluxe room which overlooks the pool, and would certainly advise anyone to upgrade to these rooms, as the standard rooms are much smaller and not as nice. The deluxe rooms are spacious and will take 3 beds easily. We had 3 beds and placed the couch along the wall near the TV and had plenty of space. Beds are larger than normal single beds and are firm and comfortable. Mini bar/fridge in the room - just take all their drinks out and put in your own. Tea and coffee provided daily but the only issue here is that we were a party of 3 and we never did get a third cup and saucer !! Wardrobe space good (but take some spare hangers) but drawer space is very limited. Furniture is a bit dated but servicable. Air con good but only operates when you are in the room as you need a card key in the slot, and there is only one key per room.
Bathroom is adequate - shower over the bath - but beware the slippy bath when getting in and out. Clean towels daily, but not much shampoo or bath gel - no lotion or any other ameneties provided. We were very pleased with the room cleanliness. The pool area is nice - but there might not be enough sun beds if the hotel got very full - however, saying that we never saw a day when you couldn't get a lounger. Pool opens at 7.30 a.m. and pool towels available and are a decent size - get 2 per bed as the matresses get very hot !! Pool clean and pleasant as are all the hotel outside areas. The only issue we had is that on days where there is an evening meal planned they clear the terrace too early and then sunbathing space gets very limited. The hotel has no lift - but is only 3 floors high. The food and drink is quite expensive in the hotel, and if the hotel dropped its prices more people would use the bar and resturant serivices. Staff are freindly and helpful for the most part. Our only gripe was that,we wanted a late check out but we told that would be 60 US$ charge and so declined - we were told there was a courtesy room -but this turned out to be the pool toilets - which although were very nice and clean for pool toilets/showers - it is not good enough when you have a long flight home ahead.

If you like the busy area of Kuta then this hotel is well positioned. Plenty of everything around and the new shopping mall across the road. However, be aware that the area is very busy and the traffic on the roads is unbelievable busy - security have to stop the traffice to eanbale you to cross the road !! The pavements are diabolical and the Bali tourist industry needs to do something about this. Sometimes there are many scooters on the pavement as on the road !! The beach is 5 mins away over the busy road but it is not a nice beach. There is a beach walkway that is better than using the road if you want to walk into Kuta. The Boadwalk resturant of the Bali Garden hotel is very good - especailly for steak. We found Bali now to bevery expensive compared to our previous visit - but we are Brits and not getting a good deal £ wise - Aussies - which are the main tourists find it reasonable. Going back to Sanur, where we previously stayed. we found prices here to be a bit more reasonable and prefer this area to the Kuta area.

All in all a very nice hotel - but the area outside the hotel is not so nice and was too scruffy/busy for us - but this is not the hotel's fault. Shame the Bali government doesn't use the visa and depature taxes to improve the roads and pavements to attract more tourists. Sorry to say that we probably won't visit Bali again as it is not the place it used to be, and now with the cost of everything here, Thailand seems to be better quality and value.

Been to the Bali Rani twice now. Each time i have been we have never had a single complaint. Staff are fantastic! Room wasnt ready when we arrived at 10.00am but that was fair enough but because of the fantastic location we were able to go shopping to the discovery (1min right down road), convert money (next door), go to the markets, go to Kuta beach we had no limitations. Had a pool view room and was joining with other guests we travelled with. Rooms were basic but fantastic. Cold aircon, HUGE bed, good tv, had a bed couch thing, balcony looking onto pool, bathroom is basic but what more do u really need?

Staff remembered me from when i went the first time. Budda the Chef is fantastic, and Abel the pool maintenance man is a beautiful person. Always so friendly towards us and always wanting to help and see how we are. Staff are always smiling and friendly. Never rude!!!

Cant complain about anything!! It is more expensive than some hotels but i can guaretee that you will love the Bali Rani!!!

Brand new dining area and bar. absolutely beautiful!!

We stayed in Nusa Dua at a 5 star hotel for the 4 days prior to this one, so that probably doesnt make our review as valid! The hotel is in a good spot, not right in the centre of Kuta though.

The main reason we chose this hotel was because it was labelled as "no children allowed"! i have nothing against children but we are young adults who did not fancy being woken up and irritated by little kids! the problem was that the rooms on either side of ours both had family's staying in them, both with 3 children seeming to be under the age of 10! Every morning they would be down in the pool splashing screaming and fighting with eachother and their parents would just sit on the sun lounges and not say a word. When i questioned the hotel staff on the the "no children" rule and asked why there are kids waking me up at 6.30 every morning he just said "i dont know sorry mam" and you got just as much sense out of the reception staff. in the end i got out of bed and shouted at them off the balcony and the parents got them out of the pool and they dissappeared but i would of preferrred to have the hotel staff sort it out.

The hotel is ok but there are many other ones in same price range that seem soooo much better. and i dont beleive they should be advertising it as a kid free hotel if they arent going to uphold that.

Room service and the included breakfast was pretty crap, as we werent getting up very early by the time we came down at 9.30 all the bread and fruit had been left out uncovered for 3 hours and it had flies and bugs all over it. we ate breakfast once and had room service once put it that way!

we were there for 3 nights and im very glad it wasnt any longer. i wouldnt stay there again, just because the poor quality of the hotel isnt made any better by the false pretence of having no kids running around the place. i would rather pay the same for a nicer quality hotel that allows children because it looks like youre going to get that wherever you go.

Going to Bali for the first time i was a bit worried but this hotel was beyond my expertations, The staff go above and beyond to help you they are so friendly and will help when ever they can. The rooms where clean and tidy. It is close to everything and just far away from all the noise. 7Eleven right next door and money exchange. We will be going back to this hotel time and time again we have planned another holiday in April and August and will be staying here.
