We visited this restaurant last night and really was amazed by the food and it's authentic Italian taste. We were particularly surprised given the restaurants unprepossessing appearance and previous dining experiences in the Bali collection. Our caprese starter was delicious, if a little short on mozzarella but fantastic well seasoned tomatoes and a good rocket and Parmesan garnish. The aubergine bake was good too but surprisingly expensive at 65rp, odd given the huge pizza we had to follow was a similar price. The menu promised pizzas cooked in a wood burning oven and indeed it tasted so! Great crust, very generous toppings and they added artichoke at our request. Also tried the steak fillet with peppercorn sauce at 102rp. Surprisingly tasty tender steak, cooked medium as requested. Al dente vegetables and potato dauphinoise (but called potato pannier on menu) was faultless and alot better than steaks I get in London at cafe rouge and the like. So hats off to chef. Bill with two large bintangs a reasonable 360rp, a fraction what such food would cost in a typical Nusa dua hotel.
When we visited there was a party of ten or so having a great time, and a few other tables occupied. It's a shame the restaurant isn't more in the centre of the Bali collection. Also the furniture is a bit naff. I'm sure if they had a more central position, decent outside seating and a snappier name they'd be full up most nights. In the meantime if you can forgo a bit of atmosphere in return for excellent Italian food go!
