Bali is amazing by itself with the world's leading hotel chains poresent and competing with eachother! The Laguna ranks right at the top with the St. Regis and the Bulgari! Expect the best and your expectations will be surpassed. Truly the best amongst the best!
My GF and I were looking for something special... we had not really decided the location or the property, so we came to Tripadvisor and checked it out.
This hotel had excellent reviews and so did the neighbouring Laguna, from the same chain. We were unsure which to prefer so we chose both!
And what an EXCELLENT CHOICE it was!
The reviews are truthful (if anything understated) and the experience was truly memorable. The best hotel in Bali! We went to the Bulgari for dinner and while it is perhaps trendier, it is isolated and the ambience is not truly as Balinese as here. The grounds are awesome with a "Laguna" pool circling the whole property (Hence the name). The garden and the trees make the setting typically Tropical and the temple on the hotel grounds add that little touch which makes it "perfection"! If you chose you can entertain yourself with all the sports and occupations as diving, windsurfing etc but the beach is really quiet and relaxing without too many kids and the local salesmen are kept at bay by the hotel staff. You can rent scooters & cars to visit the rest...Bali is amazing by itself with the world's leading hotel chains poresent and competing with eachother! You can rent scooters & cars to visit the rest of th Island which is amazing, at really cheap prices, and this should not be overlooked. The rooms have a very elegant and luxurious atmosphere without killing the Balinese feel (as in the nearby top names hotel chains where you could be in any city of the world). The whole property and the rooms are exceptionally well maintained, clean and very funcitonal with a jacuzy bath tub for two! The beach is beautiful and clean with waters that allow you to walk way out and are warm. You can bathe at midnight, as we did on Christmas eve, and have the moon light romantically set the mood! The gazebos make the tropical heat and temperatures bearable and you feel immersed in paradise: whle you lay in the shade the breeze comforts you and the staff pampers you with all the luxury you may wish for! It’s your private room on the beach! Look at the photos! Food is a separate plus: from breakfats to dinner, through lunch and snacks, the food is exquisite on a par with the Bulgari and exceeding the Banyan Tree! We ate in both. Further, the room service is very fast and the quality of the food is always top notch!
The spa is an enclave of relaxation and is located in a separate, secluded villa, at the border of the property in tru balinese style and with very good staff offering top level SPA services. The concierge is another plus note as they are capable of solving any and all your special needs with great inventive and improvisation.
Bu what is really superior is the staff! AMAZING their spirit and enthusiasm: everyone is eager to see a smile on your face and they do their utmost best to make you happy! It is in their nature to perform good deeds as Hindu believe that this will serve them in their next life: Karma! But one episode must be told... My girlfriend had lost her memory card and we were just leaving for a trip this loss upset her as she would not have been able to take any pictures! One of the staff overheard her and offered his, own, personal memory card until our return, when the concierge would have bought a new one for us. He insisted and weaccpeted. When we asked for his name to refer his wondeful timing and courtesy, he covered his name tag and said: "My name is Laguna Hotel Luxury Collection, if you praise me you will miss the point: it is the hotel which you should remember not me"! WOW... I had never come across such dedicated staff ANYWHERE! This is only an example of how you will feel. People TRULY strive to please you and it is the Hotel as a whole which comes to life and you feel spoilt and cared for at a level which we are not accustomed to in Europe or the US.
The management must really have worked hard and relentlessly because the feeling of perfection, luxury and kindness is overwhealming: they truly take such good care of you that there s nothing left to want!
In one sentence: the best of the best! Go and stay there without any hesitation because your expectations will be surpassed. Far surpassed!More
