the hotel is very good and room is quite large, one thing that traveler have to asked is the location of the room to the restaurant. At least there are 3 restaurant provided for breakfast. if you have a room far from this restaurant will take time for you to enjoy breakfast every day

This is what Americans think of when they hear about Bali. The grounds were so clean and lush, the beaches absolutely beautiful and uncrowded, and the rooms and customer service were top notch. Having stayed in the Aston a couple of miles down the road in July, we left with a not so great impression of the island, and wanted to give it one more chance. Not that the Aston itself was bad, but having seen a handful of NYC sized rats in the the immediate area, and the beach not being rather trashy, it wasn't a great trip. But on to the Grand Hyatt...

The e-concierge was great in setting up airport transfers, the check in was smooth, and the ocean view hotel room was great. The Hyatt takes a lot of care to keep the grounds clean and this includes the beach. The beach chairs set back in the trees with the slight breeze was simply amazing. One hint: if possible book your travel when the tide is "in" during the middle of the day as it makes the ocean experience much better. Otherwise you will have to walk way out on coral to get to any waves. The pools are spacious, and the kids really enjoyed the large slide. I couldn't find any pictures of the slide before we traveled, but it is fairly long. One thing to note is that if you prefer the pool to the beach, the logistics of the pool area is such that there is really no breeze in the pool area and gets very hot. And as noted in other posts, the pool water is very warm and not really refreshing. Take advantage of the great private beach!

The hotel staff was amazing, and all that we had contact with greeted us with warmth and a smile. The breakfast buffet was pretty good with a rather large assortment. The only oddity was that the coffee seemed to be "instant" and was brought out from the back. Hmmm!!! The service around the pool and beach was great, nice job guys. We did the Balinese Cultural Show one evening and while rather expensive, the food was fantastic. The show was excellent as well, despite the rainstorm that halted it for a little bit.

The area around the Hyatt was pretty nice as well as there are quite a few high-end hotels in that area. The Bali Collection assortment of shops and restaurants is right across the street and is a nice place to go for an assortment of different foods. They also have a grocery store over there and it's a good spot for buying snacks and drinks at prices much cheaper than the hotel.

Wrapping it up, it was a great place to go for a family vacation. There were plenty of Russians, Middle Easterners, Europeans, Australians, Americans, and Asians to give it quite the international feel. We would definitely go back.

We initially stayed in another Nusa Dua hotel with friends and then spent the last 5 days of our holiday in a Club Room at the Grand Hyatt. Checkin at the club lounge was smooth and fast and the staff had a cake celebrating my birthday which was lovely. The club lounge area is beautiful, tropical lots of water and peaceful. The staff in the club lounge were also very attentive. Our room was a garden view club room on the fourth floor, very large with a spacious bathroom with nice details. The ability to have breakfast in three locations was great as you get variety in food and in the view from your table. We had one significant issue while staying at the Hyatt which dissapointed us greatly and was not consistent with the level of service experienced in the rest of the hotel. We we very conscious that taking cheap day tours in Bali means that you will be taken to many shops between the tourist spots to buy things that you don't want so the driver and tour company can get a % of what you spend. Knowing this we contacted the Hyatt Tour desk and advised specifically that we would like to visit the Ubud Art Museum and a near by volcano and wanted to do this and not have to experience the Bali Tour forced sales experience. The Hyatt tour representative advised that this was fine and for this we paid double the amount advertised by the cheap tour companies. We were collected by a Golden Bird driver in the Hyatt reception area. Within the hour we were very dissapointed to realise that even though we had gone to great lengths to avoid a bad experience our efforts we in vain. We were taken to a silver shop, a painting shop, we refused to enter the wood carving shop, a souvenir shop, a Luwak gated coffee selling shop, a temple where there was pressure applied to donate and record the name of the driver, we were taken to a restaurant which apparently had a view of the volcano we wished to see (unfortunately not visible due to clouds) we advised the driver that we did not want to eat in the restaurant and we requested he take us some where else he said"No they are all the same you eat here " as he walked away. We were charged 150,000 rupiah per person plus tax....... For revolting food. After lunch we requested to return to the hotel without stopping anywhere as my partner was feeling ill. The driver still tried to take us to a photo shop where a portrait could be painted from a photo???? WTF??? On the way back we were stopped by the police where the driver claims he had to pay a bribe because we were foreigners, after more Stern requests we were finally taken back to the Hyatt. The last 10 minutes in the car was spent with the driver telling us how poor he is because his company doesn't pay him enough and Hyatt drivers are paid more and that he hoped we could tip him and assist him. We gave him 100,000 rupiah and told him we weren't happy. In a way I don't blame the driver as the system is so organised its clear that this is part of the companies processes. We walked from the car through reception and straight to the tour desk where we reminded the Hyatt tour person what we had requested and advised him of our experience, his reply was " I understand, thank you for your feedback" . When asked by the assistant manager at the club lounge how our stay was we also told him of our experience and his response was one of disbelief but unfortunately that's where the feedback ended. Very disappointing.
So we decided to ensure the rest of the holiday went smoothly we stayed in the hotel for the last few days. The restaurants are great with special mention to the staff in Nampu restaurant. The staff were extremely polite and professional and the standard of tuna belly sashimi was spectacular, so great we ate there three nights in a row. We found the Balinese food in The cafe also beautiful and the staff in the lobby bar very attentive and welcoming. Overall our stay at the Hyatt was perfect as long we stayed inside the hotel. Under no circumstances would we recommend anything the Hyatt tour desk organises and felt the lack of response from the tour desk staff member and the assistant manager at club lounge was very disappointing and once again, not inline with the level of service experienced in the rest of the hotel.

Very relaxing place... Room is not so flashy but the whole environment just so nice, feel like a home. Always number once choice when we are going to Bali.
