Stayed two nights in December 17 in a two bed room Sky villa with pool.
Beautiful eco friendly resort with paddy fields. Sound of water flowing everywhere. Clean room with beautiful bedding. Excellent pool. Breakfast was excellent.
Friendly staff, very keen to explain things.
Had dinner which was average.
Bit far from Ubud town but transport available to Ubud at regular intervals.
Tried massage - not impressed.

Best resort we had stayed. Wished we could have stayed more. Will def return

I feel really harsh writing this as the place is beautiful and the staff could not be more friendly however there are some basic things that put a downer on our 8 day stay. You are tried to be sold extra services from the time you get in to the taxi at the airport, every time you go past their fine dinning restaurant which is next to reception someone will say hello and then “do you have plans for dinner” and “ would you like to see our menu” it felt like I was being touted, even at breakfast I was interrupted about the offers they had on at the spa and by a separate person would I to do an extra activities. When booking a taxi on the first night the lady at reception said “ why don’t you go to our restaurant ?” It was like everyone was on commission and had forgotten that we were people and not just money on legs. We stopped in the Sky villa which overlooked the band area and from 3-6pm most days they had children’s band practice which was like listening to children practice for their play so their was not peace in quiet during this period. We were moved rooms on the 4th day after we discovered that our doors even though they were locked if you pulled them hard apart they just opened. We had certain things like afternoon tea, beer , wine and a free lunch in our package from Booking.com but every time we ordered it we were told that it was not included and then someone had to speak to someone else which took away from the idea it was a treat. Anyway Managment tried to sort stuff out and everyone could not have been more helpful but there are some very basic training issues here and it does not have my kind of ethos of just being chilled and relaxed with no stress. If you are going to stay here get a villa/ room near the lagoon as at least it will be quiet.

So we (four of us) stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom sky villa, complete with infinity edge pool that seemingly cascades down into the jungle below.. and we LOVED it!

Surrounded by rice fields and with the mountains as a backdrop, Visesa Ubud Resort is simply sublime. A beautiful and tranquil oasis, only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud Central.

Accomodation - Not sure about the other choices, but the Sky Villas are simply fantastic. Two bedrooms, each indivividually accessible and lockable, with seperate bath / shower-rooms. Beds were super comfy 4 poster style, with full flynets, although we did not see a single mozzie. Great outdoor lounge area, with chairs and sunloungers, all of which overlook the infinity pool. Being on the 3rd storey, the Sky Villas are level with the top of the coconut trees. All in all, a beautiful and well appointed villa with an amazing outlook.

Dining - A good selection of restaurants and other dining options. Visesa is not a huge resort. It is small and really quite intimate, meaning (for one thing) no huge queues at breakfast which is really nice. Breakfast is simple but yummy, and the staff are a dream. The poolside snacks (bar menu) were good, and the food arrived fast and was plentiful.

Hourly shuttle bus into and out of Ubud. Very simple and convenient, and well used.

No trip to Bali is complete with plentiful massages, and Visesa delivers! There are quite a few options in relation to where you can have your massage. We chose the Bamboo huts, each of which are slightly different and offer their own unique experience. Massages were simply brilliant!!

Heaps of other great things about Visesa. It is a very special place, very quiet, tranquil, cultural, serene. If you want to truly relax and unwind then Visesa is the place for you.

But Visesa would not be 'the place that it is' without the staff, all of whom are professional, welcoming, and polite. There were 4 staff who deserve special mention, as they went to great lengths to make sure that our every need was catered for, and we would like to name them to ensure that they are recognised for their efforts:

1) Komang-Yulia - (Spa) - If you want an awesome massage then Komang will deliver in spades. Awesome technique and if you like a hard massage then Komang is for you.

2) Wayan-Widi - (Restaurant) - Wayan really made our night in the restaurant a special one. She was fun, attentive, polite and professional.

3) Nyoman-Suweta - (Front of House) - Nyoman never stopped smiling. He always came up to us for a chat, and we always had a good laugh together. The perfect man for front of house.

4) Last but definitely not least, Made-Nik (Reception) - Beautiful to the extreme. Made went out of her way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. She was always there, always smiling, always willing. Nothing was ever too much. Made-Nik made our holiday very special and memorable, and she alone would make us want to go back to Visesa for a 2nd trip.

Thank you Made-Nik, and thank you VIsesa Ubud. You were awesome and made our 3-day mini break very special.

Room Tip: Sky view rooms are amazing! Definately worth the upgrade.

We stayed in a one bedroom pool villa for 3 nights.
Villa was beautiful with an amazing view of the rice paddy's.
Has a very cultural feel to it.
Breakfast is amazing, but room service options were limited.
Loved that there was a free shuttle to drop off and pick up in the centre of Ubud.
Service was great!
Day Spa was beautiful!
Even though we had a beautiful stay, hotel wasn't really to our taste as we love modern style and beach access.

My staycation at Desa Visesa was nothing short of enjoyable. I had the privilege to spend 3 days and 2 nights at a one bed room villa, accompanied with a private swimming pool and a view to a paddy field.

I was welcomed with a Balinese welcoming ceremony and a tour around the resort before being ushered to my room. The spacious Desa Visesa is surrounded by paddy fields. You can also find a temple in it.

During my visit, I had the chance to engage in exciting and refreshing activities, especially arranged by the management to spoil their guests. From growing rice at the field, to visiting the barn and the animals housed in it, playing musical instruments with local kids and many more. To say that the activities are exciting would be an understatement.

For those who want to stay fit during their stay, Desa Visesa’s outdoor gym facility is a must visit. Burn some of those holiday calories, while refreshing your mind because the gym offers a direct view to the surrounding paddy fields. Do you prefer taking some quiet times and enjoy treat yourself to some pampering instead? The resort’s spa facility should be on your list. Located inside a cave - yes, a cave - various treatments are ready for you to enjoy based on your element. Interesting, isn’t it?

Foodies, Desa Visesa has also got you covered. 3 splendid restaurants are there to spoil your tastebud: Lumbung Restaurant, Lesung Restaurant, and Warung Tani. My personal favorite is Warung Tani where you can dine with a view because it is situated in the middle of the paddy field, garden, and barn. The lovely rustic countryside sensation is surely not to be missed.

After a day - or 3 in my case - of indulging activities, it is time to retreat to the room. I really enjoyed the in-room facilities with the comfortable and clean bed and my absolute favorite, the bathtub overseeing the nature.

Last but not least, what is a hotel review without talking about its service? They offer top class hospitality with helpful and nice staffs at our service. I am also fond of the ambience they manage to create around the facility, making me feel like I truly enjoyed the natural sensation Bali has to offer. For you lovebirds looking for the perfect place for honeymoon or those who simply want to indulge in serenity, Desa Visesa is the place. I can’t wait to schedule my next visit!
