One of those places you don't want too many people to know about but want to promote at the same time. If you've had a hectic year, walk through the front gate of villa Sabandari and sit in the living area looking out over the verdant view while one of the lovely staff welcome you -all your stress evaporates just like that. This place has it all worked out, they know how to do it right and it is a gem . After 2 nights I realised my week stay was not going to be long enough, booking next year already. Thank you to all of the lovely people there who made my stay so peaceful and wonderful, it was great to see you all again.

After a great stay at Villa Sabandari last year, I didn't hesitate to book accommodation there again when planning a return visit to Ubud. Once again, the accommodation was fantastic. Away from the bustle of central Ubud, the villas are set in such a relaxing environment that you never want to leave. The staff here are exceptional, they are always helpful and seem to genuinely care about the guests needs. I hope to return for a third stay in the future!

We stayed for five nights as part of our honeymoon. Villa sabandari is in a great location, near to the centre of Bali however far away enough to feel peaceful and away from the busy centre. The villas are beautifully decorated and the infinity pool which overlooks the rice fields is amazing. The whole experience was very tranquil. One of the huge benefits is that the villa has a free driving service to anywhere within central ubud. They give you a mobile so that you can arrange pick up when you want (until 10.30pm). This was such a benefit as ubud streets are busy and walking to the centre would not be the easiest walk.

Breakfast (which was plentiful) was served on our private terrace and afternoon tea served by the pool. The hotel has recommendations for places to eat and also tours, treks you can take through the rice fields. The staff were also welcoming. We would definitely recommend villa sabandari!

We first stayed here in 2011, and returned with friends this time for 9 nights. Beautiful tranquil garden setting overlooking the rice fields, with only 6 rooms, no children. Recommend end rooms Barong and Lenso as the most private and best views. Pool, spa, walking distance to town, tasty afternoon teas, varied breakfasts, fresh fruit in rooms. Clean, delightful outdoor showers, spacious rooms and private outdoor sitting space. You will share these with geckos, butterflies, and frogs.
Dirk and his ever friendly team provided outstanding service, making restaurant bookings on our behalf, significantly extending our free tour days with driver, accomodating food allergies, and the fantastic shuttle service to and from places we wanted to see.
Sadly the town is becoming too congested with traffic and tourists, rubbish is everywhere, and no maintenance appears to have been done on dangerous footpaths since our previous trip. There are still lovely places to visit away from the town, but car travel is slow. We hope the lack of forward planning for the town Ubud does not mean it will cease to be an attractive tourist destination.
Book well ahead of time for a table for lunch or dinner at 'Locavore', one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed.

Room Tip: Best view and privacy in Barong or Lenso.

Delightful host and the most willing and friendly staff. Superb building design set in lovely gardens amongst the rice paddies but close to the centre of town. Excellent breakfasts and afternoon teas on our balcony.
