We went to the rice terraces as part of a full day tour. The vistas are fabulous and they are definitely worth seeing. You can also hike onto them. We didn't do that but only because it was too hot for us.

As a South Indian, paddy fields are not new to me, but these rice terraces in Bali are something else. The views are fantastic, a must visit place for all those who love greenery. Lot of shops are located near popular rice terraces where the travellers can sit back and enjoy a drink or two while indulging in the scenic beauty around.

My friends and I hired a van to take us here along with two other sites. By the time we got here, we were exhausted and could not stay long enough to fully enjoy the experience. I will come back in a couple days on my own and plan to spend at least a half day here. There is a lot to ground to walk around and enjoy. There are several swings as well. The area also has multiple cafes that over look the rice fields so you can lunch or drink while taking in the view. There are also market stalls around to browse.
