“Perfect Villa in Bali”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2012

Awang Awang was exactly what we were looking for in a villa in Bali. It couldn't be any more enchanting. You feel you are in another world. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The village and rice fields are just steps away. The rice field trek was one of our best travel days ever! The staff was so wonderful - helpful in planning our days' activities and there fulfilling our every need. We highly recommend Awang Awang to anyone who wants experience Bali at it's best.

My 6 friends and I had a lovely 10 days at Villa Awang Awang. The staff were superb and accommodation very comfortable. This was our second visit and I hope to be back some day to enjoy the serenity; a great place to unwind and explore the Ubud area.

Not to expensive for the view and environment you receive. A true escape to peaceful and harmonious environment, very in touch with nature and your surroundings. A little out of town but that was the beauty of it- easy to hire a motor bike and direct path into town- plus beautiful drive there! Load up on books to read as all you want to do is be amongst the view! Rooms were amazingly designed and very comfortable

Where do I start...Villa Awang Awang absolutely beautiful. From the villa itself to the breathtaking view and fantastic staff everything was just perfect. The owner Anna was also extremely helpful in assisting us with our booking and her staff certainly did her proud. We were upgraded to the 5 bedroom villa (we were 3 couples) which was HUGE. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all very clean and well presented and the living areas offered more than enough space to relax and admire the view. The swimming pool offered a wide view over the entire forest and down in to the river running below. I would highly recommend staying at Awang Awang Villas, you certainly will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: If you are a solo traveller or a couple, the eco villa looks like it would be a fantastic option. Ot...

We stayed for 6 nights at the Villa Awang Awang (in Beji, the two bedroom villa). We chose this -after much research on the many options in Ubud - because of the location, the private pool and the great value for money.
We particularly wanted peace and quiet and this was perfect - the sound of the river below and the views over the gorge of the vegetation was magic.

We came her to relax and it ticked all the boxes, the staff brought breakfast each morning and the villa was spacious and appointed with all the necessary amenties. The Staff were genrally very accommodating and friendly.
The free shuttle into town (only 10 minutes and a gorgeous drive through the ancient village of Melayang where the villa is located and past the rural scenes of rice paddies etc) was so appreciated.
The private pool was a highlight although there is an issue with staff (or other guests going to the one bedroom villa below) passing by so you don't feel closed away totally.

We were able to look around the five bedroom villa inbetween guests staying and it was superb, we hope to go back to Awang Awang in the future and would highly recommend it, compared to the larger resorts or a pool villa with a concrete fence around it, villa awang awang is very hard to beat. Pesonalised service and a memorable destination.

We have just finished our second stay at Villa Awang Awang after waiting 2 long years. Not only are the staff gracious, attentive and hospitable they can also give you a glimpse into Balinese life and culture. The villa is beautiful and the scenery stunning but Ubud is not far if you do need to do some shopping. I highly commend the efforts of the owner and staff in supporting the village culture and efforts to maintain the natural environment.

Nestled in the mountains above Ubud the views are amongst the best in the world. We enjoyed our 6 night stay and staff were friendly and helpful. We liked having the flexibility of staff being able to drive us into town and the options of several private day tours. However, a number of facilities that were advertised were not available.

Unfortunately a miscommunication meant that our airport transfer did not arrive and the taxi driver at the airport did not know where the villa was located. There was difficulty getting directions from the villa (poor phone reception) and we were lost for almost an hour. So we recommend getting directions before you arrive.

There was no TV in the villa as advertised and the Wifi did not work throughout our trip. This was inconvenient as we planned to book the rest of our trip online. For some reason, the hot water ceased working half way through the week and never returned.

In saying this, if you are wanting to escape modern life for a more authentic Balinese experience, you will enjoy it here. Be sure to take a book!

Dear Diana , thank-you for your feedback. Unfortunately when guests book through Agoda or similar booking agencies , transfers are not included and we are not given contact details for guests .When booking on-line directly with us ,an airport pick-up is included in the rate. Our own villa cars and drivers collect guests and we are able to double- check flight details and thereby avoid any miscommunication. We do apologize for the lack of a television which was sent for repair. A smaller television was available as a replacement if requested . A new television has now been purchased . I have spoken to our on-site manager and staff regarding the wi-fi and hot water. They state that they were not made aware that there was a problem and therefore have no explanation for your experience. The guests who checked in on the day of your departure did not experience any problems . I am sorry if you feel you did not receive value for money. Our rates are very reasonable but as a single couple you did choose to stay in the 2 bedroomed villa which is normally shared by 4 guests .I e-mailed you personally to discuss your stay but received no response. Our on-site manager is present every day to promptly assist guests with any problems.
