We spent 4 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was perfect with that lovey Balinese feel. It was well equipped with a beautiful bathroom and comfy bed. Nice little outdoor area. What I liked most about this Accommodation was that it felt very boutique like with rooms in different areas. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. A special thank you to the Hotel Manager (lovely Belgium lady) who really helped us sort out things to do and see in Ubud. She was excellent.
Great pool area too.
An excellent stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

The retreat is tastefully designed with appreciated privacy. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and wonderful rice paddy view. However, rooms are a bit poorly soundproofed. The bungalows are bigger and have garden view. Fantastic infinity pool. Super friendly staff. The restaurant offers delicious food and a romantic, quiet atmosphere. Only a short drive by taxi or scooter from Ubud center. Try out the cycling tour with Gusti. The retreat offers no yoga but you can ask any freelance yoga teacher to come to the retreat (we recommend Gusti 0062 812 371 4157).

We stayed in Mathis Retreat for 3 nights during June. It is just the right size for private and attentive stay. Breakfast is delicious with freshly made jam. Shuttle bus is provided back and forth from the city to the resort which takes about 10 to 15 minutes. I'm glad that we are not staying near the city centre with all the crowd and tourists. Fresh fruits and additional house keeping were offered to us in the evening. Room was clean and the view was amazing. Wifi worked perfectly too. Will come back soon!

My favorite place to stay in Bali. Ideal for a couple (with romantic dinner available) and perfect for family.
The view on the rice fields from the swimming pool is amazing.
The food restaurant is more expensive that what you can find in Bali but is really worth the money. This is the biggest breakfast I have ever had in the hotel's of Bali :D
Finally the ambiance the decoration and the staff are all at the top. Everything here is made to guarantee a zen and relaxing ambiance.

The only bad point I would give is that it is a little bit far away from the town center but with the free shuttle this is not annoying for the day trips and this contribute to the chill ambiance of the place.

Finally the owner of the place is really friendly and helpful. Keep going !

Sure recommend !

We have been stand here for 1 night and we where not lucky - some where near the hotel was a party or something like that so they where singing until 4am... our night was sleepless ;(

The room is ok
The view is nice
Dinner was tasty

The breakfast was a disappointment - small amount, not tasty, VERY slowly service.

Hi
I m sorry to read that your stay with us was not 100% as you were unsuspected.

They are no party close to the hotel but in April there is a lot of ceremony everywhere in Bali, I think that the noise that you hear was the beautiful ceremony that they made every 10 years. As you know Bali is a wonderful country and with a wonderful culture. We are in the middle of the rice field and usually our hotel is very quite .

Our chef is very popular and our breakfast is one of our best point, you have a lot of choice of food and you can choose everything if you want. Of course because of that our portions are not very big but you can choose all the items and i'm sorry tell you but even the guest love to eat it's impossible to finish all the items...
One night is short to have a real experience of a hotel, most of our guest stay 4 or 5 nights and always ask to extended, that' why we have a very good occupancy.
I wish you a lovely day. Karine
