Reviewed 16 May 2012

We booked the Diamond suite which can accommodate 6 adults during our 4D3N bandung trip in March 2012.

No fuss during check-in, the service was superb.

While waiting for the key, we were served by welcome drink. When we entered the room, we immediately love the room as it was spacious (come with 3 king size beds and a sofa bed). A plate of welcome fresh fruits was on the table. The room was come with free minibar & WiFi in the room.

The ONLY bathroom was a bit too small, but it's very clean.

The breakfast has different varieties every morning. Not fantastic, but it's acceptable.

The staff were friendly, when we asked for where can we find the nearest massage centre at 9pm, they offered that they can help us to call the masseuse to our room directly.

Not too sure how near the hotel is to the outlets as we engaged a driver for our everyday trip. I would suggest that to engage a driver to bring you around is the wise choice.

We took our dinner at the Cafe Halaman which is just in the next building of Scarlet. The atmosphere if good but the food is a bit salty. Would recommend their mushroom soup.

Overall, we were satisfied with the services provided by Scarlet Dago. If we visit Bandung again, will definitely book with Scarlet!

We booked the 2x queen bed room and it was superb. The condition of the hotel and room is super clean. They practice a non-smoking policy within the hotel. Service is good and the best is when we arrived at the hotel 0900am, the reception allow early check-in even though the policy check-in time is at 1400pm.

Highly recommend to try.

Location is good where it's not far away from Dago factory outlet area. We stayed at Scarlet Dago Hotel for 4 days. I requested for a quiet room when i did the booking and they did arrange for me when i reached. A welcome drink was served and even a fruit plate. The breakfast is just nice and they did some changes on everyday's menu. Their staffs are very helpful when we have queries too. We did have good sleeps every night. Love the comfy room and definitely will recommend to everyone!

We absolutely loved this boutique hotel and its staff! Service was superb!!

First the greetings from warm and friendly staff, followed by a welcome drink...and then a personalised welcome message from the GM and plate of welcome fresh fruits once you entered the room... complete with free minibar & WiFi in the room...

Although the staff wasn't very conversant in English, they went all out to make us feel their warm hospitality.. some examples:
- when we asked for the correct angkot to take, they accompanied us across the road, and flagged the right angkot for us, to ensure that we got in the right one...
- when we asked for directions to a particular place, they came back few minutes later with a print-out of google map, marked by pen with the directions & location of the place! ...
- when we told them that our flight out was in the wee hours in the morning and need to leave by 5+ am, they offered to pack our breakfast! When we came down slightly earlier at 5.20am, the hot breakfast were already packed in big boxes! Thanks to the hotel, we could enjoy a nice warm breakfast (hot nasi goreng, sunny side up, veges, pickles, sausages, goreng chicken) at the airport while other passengers looked on enviously! (no cafes were opened at that hr)...

The room (we had a Gold room) was spacious, enough to house 4 pax with the 2 comfortable queen beds... Bathroom was a little small, but clean and neat. There were over 65 local & international channels on the TV... Room facilities were complete - slippers, safe, kettle, basic toiletries set etc... The breakfast spread was also good (especially the local food variety) - it was a different spread for each day we stayed... For dinners, there's a popular Cafe Halaman just a minute away in the next building of Scarlet, which served good Javanese food, with a mix of western and chinese spread too...

Scarlet was walking distance (~ 10min) to the Jalan Dago Factory Outlets, like Level, Grande, Gossip etc... Other FO areas like Rumah Mode (best and likely more 'genuine' FO) at Setiabudi and other FOs at Jl. Riau area were easily accessible via a a 10 to 15 min angkot ride (2000Rp) away (just ask hotel staff)... The FO experience in Bandung was indeed unique - even if one's not into shopping - a different experience in itself (unlike States or Europe's)... almost all FOs were like mini 'towns', complete with nice koi fountains, larger-than-life Javanese/Balinese architectures and rest areas, and cafes... one would need a careful eye for genuine buys though ;)

Gedung Sate was also an Angkot ride away, and the Sun market opposite it at Gasibu Park was one of our favourite local experiences, where u could see the interesting buzz of the locals... Just be very careful with valuables, it's best not to carry any handbags/daypacks at all (can use a plastic bag to carry daily essentials like water, umbrella etc)... we were warned by the friendly locals of thieves and pickpockets, and we sighted many suspicious "scouts"...

Overall, we had such an enjoyable stay at Bandung, many thanks to Scarlet Dago hotel and its staff for such great service! Keep up the good work!

we stayed for 2 nights. it was opened last year and the hotel has everything printed with their name. we were even greeted with a letter dedicated to us and thanked us for the stay when we moved in to the room. yes, the letter was placed in our room before we go in. right after we put down our luggages in the room, a waitress came to us and gave us a complimentary plate of fruits. this is how they welcome their guests in a simple way. whats' more, the tidbits, chocolate bars, drinks in the mini frigde are FOC!

all staffs are friendly.

rooms are clean and full of basic necessities like hair dryer, all the toiletries and 2 pillows for each of us. the room also has full height glass window.

the hotel is just walking distance to Armanda Brownies, Gossip, and plenty of FO along Jl Dago.

the only thing is the breakfast varierty is a bit limited. but we like the passion fruits served in their breakfast.

we will visit Scarlet Dago Hotel again if we go to bandung.

Good boutique hotel with beautiful rooms. The bathroom is a suspect (you must see it to believe it) but not a big problem! We took the gold room which can sleep 4 very comfortably so it was good value for money. Breakfast can be improved and service was passable (can't understand the 2 coffee cups and 2 free ottles of mineral water although we have asked for 4 fm both house keeping and reception!!). They finally provided 3...we gave up! In terms of location, it is closest to Jalan Dago but still need a fair walk of 10 mins. Don't be fooled by the distance mentioned in the hotel website as none of the other places are walkable. Only Jalan Dago. However, you can take an "angkut", a public transport (similar to a tuk-tuk in Thailand) which costs only IDR2,000 each but you must know where you are going to...Alternatively, can take a taxi but it is difficult to flag one down during peak hours. Again, try to take the Bluebird or GR (both blue in colour). The starting charges are IDR6,000 and IDR5,000 respectively but make sure the meter is uses. The traffic is quite crazy in Bandung but the hotel is in a nice secluded area so it wasn't noisy. Everywhere is just a short taxi ride away so it was convenient. Tip: Do not go to Gedung Sate Sunday market. My daughter and cousin both had their handbags slashed and wallets taken. It was a bad experience to an otherwise great shopping trip

Room Tip: Book from AsiaRooms. Hassle free and good price!

I stayed in Scarlet Dago Hotel with my friends. We wanted to have a private getaway from our work so we stayed in Scarlet Dago Hotel for the weekend a few days ago. The location of this hotel is very good, in my opinion. It's relatively not far from shopping centers and places of interest in Bandung. We rented the Diamond Suite, which actually is bigger than we need, but since we got extra money then we rented it anyway.

The Diamond Suite has a cozy atmosphere with trendy touch. The room is divided into two smaller rooms with a solid partition. It has three bed which could accommodate two people each and also has a sofa which is comfortable enough for one person to sleep on. The beds, just like what I expected to be, were very comfortable and provided a good sleep. The Diamond Suite got two flat-screen TVs, one in each of the smaller rooms. It's good since my friends and I got different taste of TV channels, so we got to watch what we want without disturbing anyone.

The room's rate is already including a free Wi-Fi connection. When I used it, the download rate reached 90-100 kbps on average. The bathroom only has a shower, with no bath tub. It's not big, but clean and the toilet amenities are complete. The bathroom got a transparent glass with a retractable folding screen, probably for those with romantic traveling reasons. The breakfast buffet was quite nice, many variety of foods to choose from. The taste is also not disappointing.

Overall, this hotel is more to the expensive side. But in my experience, it was worth it. I would recommend this hotel for business trips and romantic getaway.
