We tried 2 different audio guides. They are supposed to work completely automatically by detecting the places you are standing at... It just did not work properly which did not make our stay as enjoyable as it should. Also, not a long line of tourists waiting at the ticket office or at the audio guide station, but it just takes them too much time to actually get things done. Even the stupid return of the audio guide takes 10 minutes. We were not in a rush but we did not feel like we should waste our time for no good reason.

Save some time for this and get the headset tour guide. We did not have much time so we hit the highlights and even then didn't see all. It is a mix of indoor and outdoor areas and has active excavations underway.

Make sure you see this and take a tour if possible. This is an amazing place and I've really never seen anything like it.

The most important historical site in Acre , is this fortress , consists of many halls , partly underground, from the crusaders era in Israel . Unbelievable architecture very nice preserved . Don't miss the old dining hall . Take an hour to visit . 10 US DLRS admission. Not to be missed .
