“Perfect in every way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 February 2012

We stayed for three nights at Pina be Lev. Everything was perfect, from the peaceful garden, beautiful decor, to the belgian chocolates, wine and fruit on arrival. The fridge was stocked with juice, bottled water milk and yoghurt all for your use, no hidden extra charge. We enjoyed the jaccuzzi and the sauna. The breakfast is delicious with an array of cheeses, home made bread and more. The B and B is conveniently located close to the old village, where you can wander through cobblestone streets containing art galleries and restaurants. Rosh Pina is a beautiful town to explore on its own, but is also conveniently located near the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Kobi, the manager, is wonderfully warm and kind, and pays attention to every detail of this beautiful establishment. He even gave us a ride to the bus stop when we checked out. We stayed in 4 hotels on our trip, this one was certainly the best.

Room Tip: Have a look on Pina be lev's website beforehand and pick out the room you like best, though they...

First, I have to say that visiting Rosh Pina wasn't really planned...in fact, we knew very little about it, but after stumbling across a review on Trip Advisor, we decided to make it part of our itinerary. After the craziness that is Jerusalem, Rosh Pina was a very welcomed, tranquil spot which we stayed for two days. Pina Balev is entirely representative of Rosh Pin.......modern, yet peaceful, tranquil, and an escape from chaos. The grounds are beautiful.....fruit tree and flowers surround the premises. Although we didn't use the hot tub, it looked perfect. Instead, we chose to relax in the chairs and hammock outside. The room (we were in the smallest one)was perfect for myself, my husband, and our daughter. The bathroom was very large, with an impressive shower. The kitchen had exactly what one would need to survive a few days, and the breakfast that was delivered in the morning was delicious. Our host, Kobi, was a wonderful reference point for everything we did while in Pina Balev. He recommended the fantastic 'Shiri Bistro' for dinner, and also recommended that we visit the Hula Reserve (which we loved!) We travelled through the Golan (Har Bental and Banas Waterfalls) during the day, and relaxed at Pina Balev in the evening. Make sure that you visit the beautiful, yet solemn area 'Nimrod's Lookout' at the top of Pina Balev. If you are lucky, you will meet Nimrod's father who will tell you the tragic meaning behind the memorial. I wish we could have stayed here for a full week!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed four nights in the Orchard Suite and enjoyed every minute. It was like staying in an enchanted garden, lush, intimate, and charming. Kobi, the innkeeper, was gracious and attentive, providing us with whatever we needed, including mapping out a road trip through the Golan, and recommending where to stop to enjoy the archaeology, nature reserves, and wineries. Pina Balev is within walking distance of the city's old section, which is bursting with artist galleries, restaurants, and a restored ancient synagogue. We attended Friday night services at the synagogue, and Shabbat morning went to the Eli Cohen Sephardi synagogue. There is a kosher market right up the road with some of the best prepared food we've ever tasted. Altogether an absolutely delightful experience.

Pina Balev is fantastic! Rustic stone gave elegance and character to our suite, while we soaked in our double jacuzzi! Beautiful gardens surround with hot tub and new sauna! Suites are equipped with kitchenette fully stocked with yogurt, milk and orange juice. As well as delicious homemade granola, chocolates, fruit and complimentary wine. The breakfast was among the best in Israel! Very very comfortable! I highly recommend!

Room Tip: We stayed in the top room (upstairs), it was great!

We recently spent one night at Pina Balev and wished we could have stayed longer. It’s a small Bed and Breakfast in Rosh Pina, and is beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. There are 5 different room/suites, each one, surrounded by beautiful gardens. A natural spring pool and hot tub are nicely landscaped into the property. The owner exudes pride in his property and is committed to making sure his guests are pleased. Rooms are stocked with wine, chocolates, fruit, yogurt and water, which is such a nice treat after a day of touring.

There is a cappuccino/espresso maker in the kitchen, along with an assortment of instant coffee and tea, but the cappuccino maker was such a treat. Kitchens were even stocked with milk so you could make cappuccino in the morning. The grounds are beautiful and breakfast is served in the gardens, where you can really appreciate the natural beauty of this small hotel.

We stayed in the Canaan Suite, which was a large suite, with an extra bed, small couch, table and chairs. There is a Jacuzzi in the room as well as a separate bathroom, with shower. The bed is comfortable, the towels and bathrobes plush (not something you always get in Israel). There is a half wall between the bed and the living area and even more importantly, a beautiful garden, outside the room to enjoy wine or breakfast. The kitchen was well stocked, as mentioned above, and had a microwave.

Our friends stayed in the Orchard suite and were not quite as pleased. That suite is considerably smaller and not nearly as comfortable. It does have a decent kitchen area and larger bathroom, but the actual room itself is much smaller (or feels much smaller), than the Mt Canaan Suite. It does have lovely seating outside the suite, in the gardens but I’d strongly recommend the Mt Canaan suite over the Garden Suite if given a choice.

Breakfast is served in the garden, as stated above, and is real treat. There is fresh bread, yogurt, smoked salmon, omelettes and coffee/tea. There is also a picture on the web site showing the breakfast and it looked exactly the same. Breakfast was truly delicious but probably even more special because of the surroundings.

We only spent one night here because we were touring the northern part of Israel. We did hire a private tour guide, Itzik Yanai, (itzikyanai@gmail.com) and really liked him. We spent 4 days with him touring the Northern part of the country, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea-Masada. He is in his mid 30’s, energetic, knowledgeable and very easy to be with. He’s a good driver. Sounds silly, but in Israel, where there are so many crazy drivers, we really appreciated this. I highly recommend him.

We chose this B&B as an alternative to staying at a large kibbutz, even though we were travelling with teenagers. No doubt, it is a romantic place, but it worked for us because we really could appreciate the serenity and personalized attention of a small property, especially after staying at many large hotels in Israel. Next time in Israel, we plan to spend more time at Pina Balev, so we can really appreciate its beauty.

Room Tip: Mt Canaan Suite is lovely

My husband and I looked for a bed and breakfast in Rosh Pina for a romantic weekend by ourselves. We went to Pina Balev based on the Trip Advisor reviews and recommendations from some local Israeli guidebooks and were very, very pleased. The suite (Swiss Chalet) was very charming and the garden is literally exceptional. Kobi was very friendly and helpful (and drove us to Tsfat to pick up our car after a hike). We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to bring our children with us a week and a half later. The second time we stayed in the Royal Suite, which is massive and has stunning views from inside the suite, as well as from a very sizable private balcony located directly outside the suite.
We would definitely go back (we tried to reserve for August with relatives visiting from the U.S. but they were already full).
By the way, we keep Kosher and Shabbat and found this to be a very convenient base for Shabbat. It is walking distance to a few synagogues and there is kosher take-out which you can order over the phone prior to your visit to Rosh Pina. Plus Rosh Pina has some great kosher restaurants (new, apparently).

It is no coincidence, that every review of Pina Ba Lev gave it five stars! Our only regret was that e could not stay longer and we will stay there much longer next time. My only warning is that you must have decent weather to stay there. Although every room has a table and chairs inside where you can eat, the garden is what makes this place so charming! Our room was huge, with a wonderful bed, big jacuzzi, and kitchen area. They have thought of everything and you will find bathrobes, hair dryers, slippers, wine, yogurt, OJ, and enough of a kitchen so that you can bring food back and eat there if you want to economize. There are two "watering holes" in the garden--one is a natural spring, with a soothing waterfall, and the other is a hot tub. I fell asleep outside next to the spring, it was so relaxing! We go up north on every trip and we always try new hotels and B & Bs, but we have found the one we are sticking with now.
