The husband and wife owners of this B&B really go out of their way to cater for their guests. They will answer any questions, even if they have to go looking for the answer. Many needs are anticipated, and this starts at check-in with the handing out of an excellent map of the area and advice on where to go, tailored to your personal interest.

The garden is extensive and lovely and allows its guests to sit in the shade in comfort and choose between tranquility or company. The garden even has a hot tub! The rooms are spread in small apartment blocks over the site/garden but it is all well lit and feels very safe. The rooms are not luxurious but clean and comfortable - high end B&B style.

I would recommend this to anyone, from families to backpackers. This is not a full service hotel but unusually for a B&B, I do recommend it even for business travellers:
- There are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance from the site so the absence of an evening meal is not an issue. For the nearest restaurant, exit the B&B and turn left and left again. Walk 150m and on the right hand side, up on the first floor there are separate meaty and milky restaurants. Very cheap compared to restaurants in the main cities but surprisingly good.
- Parking is free and readily available around the B&B. A car is not essential but very useful as this hotel is some way from the town centre and public transport to other places is limited. Parking in Tsfad centre can be a problem.

Relaxing place in the hills above Safed..quite nice garden to eat your own dinner or have a bottle of wine in the evening. Rooms are country side style and with satellite tv.. You almost need a car to get there.. Owners are friendly and provide useful info..

The Safed Inn is situated in a quiet area of Tsfat a short distance (10 minutes by car or taxi) from the old town. It is a 'hostel' which makes you feel at home. The owners are very personable and helpful, giving advice freely and with a great deal of knowledge. The breakfast is excellent, a great start to the day. The rooms are good (we had a three bed with 'en suite') but the beds are a little soft (personal preference!). The grounds and gardens are pleasant and add a sense of space. A great location from which to venture out into the old city.

What a nice small hotel. A good accomodation for a fair ptice, cosy, in the middle of trees and in a pleasant tranquillity. The innkeeper Rika shows you proudly her garden. The exzellent jams you'll enjoy at breakfast are home made by Rika and the frutes are from Rika's garden. If you want to know something about Israel, cuisine, traditions, just ask Rika. Perfectly in command of English she takes time and finds pleasure in telling you fascinating things. You will feel welcome. Plus sauna, plus hammocks inbetween roses, plus 5 min to Safed, plus 15 min to Kinereth... Just the place to stay and for us surely the place to come again.

We stayed at the Ruckenstein B&B (Safed Inn) for two nights this month. We loved it, loved the quiet gorgeous gardens and enjoyed meeting and chatting with Riki & Dubi. The [Continental] breakfast is delicious and way more than enough - we didn't need the Israeli breakfast!! The rooms are well designed and charming, with a coffee corner, refrigerator, sitting area, robes for the hot tub and sauna. Riki also helped us with a map of the city, driving directions and excellent suggestions. Be sure to try Riki's homemade liqueur - Nocino (walnut) & plum. There is free Wifi but was a little finicky in places. It worked great out in the garden. There is also a fully equipped kitchen for guests. There are grills in the garden and a little supermarket around the corner...
The location is rated average only because one has to have a car to get down into the city, otherwise it's a marvelous location - in a quiet part of the city.
