“Beautiful view, average room”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2010

Lovely beach area with walking distance to several eateries. We were on a tour and had a very below average western breakfast included with the tour. Service was very poor as well. The bar area had bottles of alcohol that were for "display purposes" only and were not available to consume nor available for sale which was weird. Beer is available however.

Room was okay though we only had one bath towel. Companions in another room only had hand towels. Bathrooms need freshening as they were old and tired.

Location is quite a ways from anything. Difficult to find bank/ATM in the area. We were told by others that "Family Mart" has availability. We recommend bringing plenty of Korean "won" to avoid that hassel.

The location of the hotel is not convenient at all. It's about a 30 to 45 minute drive to anywhere you would want to go. The hotel itself is like a Korean Motel 6 with very minimal amenities. The rooms are not very comfortable or beautiful. The "restaurant" had 3 options: Beef, chicken, or fish with a soup and salad. The food was not very good although it was relatively cheap. The beach which is across the street and beyond a concrete wall only appears during low tide usually in the evenings so don't come here thinking you are gonna lay out or have your kids play on the beach all day. The staff did no speak english well and their appearance was not very clean (one person in particular). This hotel has nothing more to offer than four walls to protect you from the weather. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody.

I booked a room at the Ocean Grand for me and my mom using Asiarooms.com and got a great price. The hotel is located a ways from the airport but it's still convenient to the many things to see on Jeju-do....and it's not that far from a great beach. The staff at the front desk was friendly and the breakfast served was tasty. I'd stay there again.

Clean rooms. The only positive remart that can be made. Hotel staff are unfriendly and obviously would like to be somewhere else - anywhere else. Brochures and on-line information is misleading. This hotel is NOT on the beach and does note have a pool but prices like it is and does. Lovely beach area up the road where you are better of staying at the Sky Blue or other hotel. Avoid this place unless all other options are unavailable.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2008

Stayed here in april 2007. The place is located in Hamdoek, a 20-30 minutes drive from Jeju. It is a small place...a beach, some restaurants and that's it, but I'm sure it's a great place if you just want to relax. If shopping and action is you thing, then don't stay here. Then stick to Jeju or Suwon.

It is a basic hotel, but the hotel is relatively new and looks good. The room look like a typically hotel room, but was good.....hard wood floor, small balcony. The view from the balcony was great!
Could choose between korean or western breakfast. My parents has the western, which consist of bread, butter, egg, ham etc. My recommandation would be to stick with the korean breakfast.

Then to the point we didn't like that much. The service could have been better. We were promised shuttle bus service both ways, but only got it at arrival. We had to order 2 taxis when we left the place. Not good! Also, the recepionists were not that helpful when we asked for information. Don't expect any english, but this wasn't a problem for us, as my wife is korean.
