From the moment we entered, it was all so good. Lobby was well decorated with beautiful paintings. Our rooms, suite 3 (1st floor) & suite 4 (top floor, great view from the balcony), were very clean spacious and nicely made. Very elegant but yet so simple. Big clean bathroom. However, one could notice minor peeling of the paint & slightly worn out furniture at few places inside the room. And the beach is hardly a 2 minute walk. Breakfast, here, was the best among all that we had in Lanka. Although the chef is Sri Lankan, he did cook some good veg aloo parathas for us. For the dinner though there wasn't anything Indian (veg) in the menu. Yet, in all, it was nothing short of a wonderful stay.

Beautiful location, beautiful room, beautiful food, beautiful service........what more can I say? The aptly named Paradise Road the Villa is truly paradise. From the moment we arrived we loved the elegance and style of the property with its carefully curated antiques and it’s beautiful monochrome palette. I have to admit that prior to this visit we were already big fans of the Paradise Road brand with its shops and restaurants in Colombo.
We loved the trains going past the end of the gardens. Although the hotel was fully booked it never felt anything other than quiet and exclusive. The gardens are lovely and there are two pools. All the rooms are different but exuding that Paradise Road style. Great restaurant, as you would expect. Also a great turn down service with fresh towels and cinnamon burners lit. Oh yes, Spa Ceylon toiletries in the bathroom. Just gorgeous.

We were staying in 2 suites ,suite 3 and suite 5.....big flaw is that in suite no 5, the toilet is visible from the main room which is a big disappointment...rooms are very spacious which is a plus...balcony on villa on the first floor was pretty spacious but floor of balcony was sticky...further the water in the shower section was going rather slowly which is a big disappointment .....however food is delicious ..ordered prawn curry which was yum....and good thing is it’s about 200 m from the beach ...overall satisfactory but slightly disappointed ...service is usually prompt and a plus

This is a very very good hotel - probably just shy of the full 5 stars but falling just short. We were here for 4 nights en route to a wedding in Galle. The room we had was a suite with a patio overlooking the lawn which was great. Big bed, very comfortable, well appointed with a cot and we were easily able to hire a nanny for the evening but compared to prices in Galle and Colombo the nannies here were extremely expensive which we know wasn't going to the nanny, rather a surcharge to the hotel. But Australia or U.K. Prices which is a mickey take in Sri Lanka. The food was great but after four days I was feeling like it was a bit limited. The staff are great, most places in Sri Lanka tend to have great service and I thought the place was stunning - loved the well documented train coming past every 15 minutes. I'd probably not go back as I feel I've done it and there is so much choice in the region but definitely give it a whirl.

A classic boutique hotel which was renovated by Geoffrey Bawa. Although it was quite an old place, It was maintained very carefully while keeping the elegance of the place. the staff was so good and really helpful. They have two pools. we got the room by the small pool and it was great and so convenient for us. They have great food and we enjoyed them to the maximum. If you are with kids, the only issue is you have to cross the rail track if you are going to the beach (the beach was amazing and clean). But if you keep eye on kids and ensure your safety then that won't be a problem. However you can relax to the maximum within the hotel premises with it's calm ambience and great hospitality.
