The African Tulip welcomed me to their country with many "Karibu" from staff and on return from the end of my safari. The lady at reception was so helpful in advising me to not walk outside alone. I am a female and solo traveller. She arranged the Hotel taxi driver Robert to escort and pick me up from the Museum. Robert was fabulous and happily drove around town so I could get my bearings of Arusha on the first day. If I wasn't offered a tour guide for later that afternoon by my safari tour company, I would not hesitate to go with Robert! It was USD$10 into town and back to the hotel. I arrived without any local currency on a Sunday and the lady offered the exchange at the hotel but also advised that the exchange venues were open on Sunday and I should check the rate first. That was a kind hint! The rooms were clean and breakfast buffet every morning in the Baobab Restaurant was a delight! Coffee was delicious! The pool area was a relaxing spot after a long day & bar staff were very welcoming. The Souvenir Shop was great! I read previously in a review that it was cheap and comparable to the Masai Market in Arusha. I actually found them cheaper! Trust me!
