Far from the modern world in a dry savannah landscape overlooking Lake Eyasi lies a Zanzibar inspired lodge. A mixture of modern conveniences and white minimalist design, it is a most lovely place to stay at. It had opened in 2016, so everything is (still) clean and pure.
Our room was very large with quality and comfortable furniture and large bed with mosquito net. You have great views towards the lake from the veranda of the room and from the roof top terrace on the second floor.
The main building has an outside lounge area and pool.
The restaurant is inside. The food is in general very good. Even breakfast boxes were above expectations (and mine are always (too) high).
Staff is friendly and welcoming, except for one man. It seemed as if he didn't want to be bothered too much by us and our questions or requests.
You can do great bush walks in the stunning other worldly surroundings. Our highlight however, was a visit to the Hadzabe people. A small tribe of hunter gatherers who have completely rejected the modern world. We went hunting with them.
All in all, highly recommended.

I have recently returned from 2 nights at Ziwani Lodge en-route to the Ngorongoro Crater from Tarangire and this place is a truly magical oasis. We arrived to a reception of very friendly staff with cool face cloths and refreshing drinks and the resort manager.

You walk through to the main entrance to stunning views across the Great Rift Valley and Lake Eyasi. You could literally spend all day looking at this view as it is constantly changing with the sun. There is no better place in Tanzania to have a sun-downer.

The whole resort is beautifully decorated and the rooms are also very comfortable and all with exceptional views. The food is first class and all the staff are extremely attentive.

A fantastic place to relax for a few days between safaris and to do some cultural authentic visits to the Hadazabe Tribe.

Room Tip: All rooms have exceptional views
