Stayed here between Kili hike/climb and Safari. The showers are spacious and hot (ensure the wall switch is on for several minutes before expecting hot water) the food is very, very good, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Transportation is available for around $20 if needed, TV is limited to about 3 stations, and the wifi gets a little choppy beyond the lobby and restaurant. It's not a long-term, resort style destination but you'll be very comfortable for a day or two before, after, or between activities in Tanzania.

We used Summit Safari before and after Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and again after a 4day safari. I admit, the website had me very underwhelmed so we even splurged on a 4star hotel for our last night before leaving to come home. After staying here before and after our climb, we asked to switch back to Summit Safari!

As others have stated, the restaurant service was slow, but their menu is huge and the food was delicious when it arrived. The 24hr service was exceptional! Wifi was a little slow, but it's Africa, so we were pretty tolerant getting downloads in the lobby & restaurant.

Rooms were plenty big for all our gear prep, beds were comfy, hot water was hot. Room 105 shower & sink don't drain correctly, but hotel easily relocated us. All in all, the staff is beyond terrific. Always attentive, always accessible and always exceptional service.

Room Tip: All rooms were terrific, but the shower & sink in 105 didn't drain correctly. Hotel easily...

Like so many others on here, we stayed at this hotel before and after our climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. The hotel has limitations as noted by the other reviewers, including the limited hot water, the lack of follow up by staff and very slow service. But, unlike other hotels we stayed at on this trip, they have a TV and a great outdoor area with cute rabbits and the food is good. Had it been a bit warmer we might've gone into the pool. We did appreciate the laundry service as well. As long as you are not expecting too much from this hotel you'll be fine.

This is a base hotel. The rooms are large and spacious and the shower has hot water with great pressure. The real draw of the hotel is friendly staff. You are waited on completely from the time you arrive. Another plus is the good food - pizza and the chicken schwarma was had multiple times. These were so large that my husband and I learned just to order one thing and split it. Also, you have to love sitting outside and being entertained by the multiple bunnies on the lawn. There is only wifi in the lobby (or in room 101-102, which is close to the lobby). I recommend this place for it's friendly people.

This hotel is used by climb kili. The hotel is in a gated area in Arusha and is very safe. The rooms are clean and good quality. The staff are also very friendly, if lacking a little
In their ability to speak English. However, the food I had in the hotel took up to 2 hours to arrive on each occasion and was cold when it did. The wifi is also poor, limited to just the reception area of the hotel. When you're paying almost western prices, you would expect western amenities.

Room was very spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. But the staff were really the highlight of our stay. Friendly, helpful and always bearing a smile is really what Tanzania is all about! We'd love to come back and we'll definitely miss Stella, lovely girl working in the hotel's restaurant. Thank you all very much.

A group of 14 of us stayed at this hotel recently. We climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and stayed there both before and after our ascent. The hotel is simple and functional, great service for the price.
Pros: simple, neat, clean and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen and bar open 24/7, which was great since we reached there at 1 am and got some hot food and a drink. The staff were really welcoming and hospitable.
Cons:We had to play musical rooms to find a room with an effective hot shower. We brought this to the attention of the staff. We then departed and came back 8 days later, exhilarated by our success and really filthy and dusty...looking forward to a hot shower. It was not easy. Alas, we had to play musical rooms again. With a lot of effort we found some rooms with showers that did dispense hot water, but for only a short span of time or
in limited amounts.

All things considered, for the price, it is great. Not much to do around the hotel which is somewhat isolated at the end of a windy dirt road and surrounded by security walls...but that may be considered a plus. Now, if they fix those showers...........

Room Tip: best wifi on the side of the reception counter...not on the restaurant side
