We've just spent 3 weeks holiday at the Kantary Beach for the third year in succession. The reason for this is that it's the perfect place for a wonderful and peaceful holiday on one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. We simply love it and will be coming back again next year for the fourth time. This year we were rather nervous as it is no longer an adults only hotel, but fortunately during our visit there were very few children there. This year we booked a suite and I must say that apart from the outdoor shower, it was just as good as the villas. In fact when it rains you can sit outside on your balcony which we found somewhat better than in the villa.
What I must mention is the Similan Restaurant. This restaurant is amazing and the food fantastic. The prices are not too high for the quality of food served there, we ate Tiger Prawns, Tenderloin steaks, Salmon etc and it was wonderful. My husband and I ate there 3 times and surprisingly were always alone as none of the other guests took advantage of this fantastic place. I spoke to Mr. Tu about it and said I couldn't understand why the other guests don't come. Mr Tu is the Food and Beverage Manager, he is very friendly and helpful and a great asset to the hotel. Towards the end of our stay we noticed that quite a lot of tourists were arriving who had booked a cheap holiday with "Penny" or "Rewe". A lot of these guests don't know how to behave in a hotel in Thailand and run around early morning reserving sunbeds. How I hate this!! One man even came to breakfast in his swimming trunks with just a shirt on top and without shoes. He was carrying a plastic bag so could pack a few items from the buffet to eat later. These are not the type of guests who should be staying at the Kantary. I hope next year that not too many of them are around. What I suggest regarding Otter's Bar is that there should be a further "Happy Hour" at 9 o'clock in the evening so that people meet there after dinner. From 6 until 7 o'clock the place is full and then everyone disappears and doesn't return which is a shame for this wonderful bar.We stayed at the sister hotel in Cape Panwa and they have "Happy Hour" in their Lighthouse Bar at 9:30 in the evening and most people remain seated when the "Happy Hour" has finished and pay the normal price for their drinks. Perhaps the management will think about this, we hope so. We are looking forward to our fourth trip.

Room Tip: Both villas and suites are good.

Thank you for writing to us so warmly about your latest visit to Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak. It is good to know that you feel that we are maintaining our high standards. We encourage guests not to use the restaurant wearing swimming costumes but I am sure that you will understand that it is difficult for our staff to insist on that and we must rely largely on the consideration of our guests. It is truly delightful to read of your praise for our Similan Fine-dining restaurant overlooking the beach and we will pass on to Tu your appreciation of his high level of service. We note your very constructive suggestion over the happy-hour at our roof-top Otter’s Bar and thank you for your input. We, too, are looking forward very much to the pleasure of welcoming you both back for your fourth visit next year.

Yours sincerely,
The Management of Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak.

We have just returned from our 3rd stay ay Kantary. It was nice, but very busy, much busier than our last 2 stays and many, many German guests.

We arrived and our room was not ready, we also requested a beachfront villa and this request could not be met.

Staff were ok with the exception of Konsom in the restaurant. He provided EXCELLENT customer service and this should be recognised, Thanks!

The place overall is well kept and room attendants do a good job (although the last guests opened packet of biscuits, oil , salt and coconut milk ) were left un noticed in our cupboard!

Mr Tu in the restaurant was not nearly as friendly as our last 2 visits, breakfast was good with many choices.

My biggest gripe by far is the "sun bed reservers"...... we saw people at breakfast time and probably much earlier than that placing towels on the beds with the best positions and not using them for hours! This really needs to be addressed. There is a sign that says towels will be removed if not used within the hour, but this was never enforced.

The stretch of beach, is the best in Khao Lak in my opinion.

Luckily, we had hired a car so we could head into town for dinner everynight, which was great.

Overall, we had a relaxing stay but I'm afraid it will be our last at Kantary as we did not enjoy it as much as our previous visits.

Thank you for letting us know your thoughts on your latest visit to Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak. At times of high occupancy our House-keeping staff are working very hard at servicing and re-stocking the accommodation for both resident and newly-arriving guests and it is not always possible to give access to the suites before the official check-in time. However, arriving guests are quite free to take advantage of the hotel’s facilities such as the cafés, bar, restaurant and swimming pools or just to enjoy wandering around the natural greenery of our surroundings. We thank you for your compliments to Konsom and we will make sure that he is aware of your appreciation. The sunbed situation is a very delicate one: we wish to avoid being over-regimented in our arrangements (people are on holiday, after all) and although we request that the beds not be reserved for long periods, we have to rely to a large extent on the good-will of our guests. We are very happy to read that you had a pleasant stay again on the whole and we are naturally disappointed that you may not return. If, however, you are tempted in the future, I can assure you of the warmest of welcomes when you come back.

Yours sincerely,
The Management of Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak.

After a very long flight with layovers we were mistakenly taken to Kantary Bay Hotel by transfer. I mention this to avoid it happening to anyone else as it is another 2 1/2 hours drive to get back to Kantary Beach Hotel!.
When we finally arrived we were very happy to be there. The hotel is superb, the staff are very friendly and facilities are great. We loved the swimming pools, very warm ocean and very comfortable accommodation. Would highly recommend Kantary Beach Hotel and would love to visit again

Having had a 2 day stay here last year, we opted for a week this year. This is a lovely place, however, it is more on the self catering side and we unfortunately, prefer to eat out every night.

There are a few restaurants near the hotel, but not many. As such, if you don't want to travel in to the town on a night, your choices are limited.

I would return, however, I think it would only be for a couple of nights. This is nothing to do with the hotel or it's staff, just my personal choice.

Housekeeping was excellent, but be warned the beds are a bit hard. I found out on the last day that you can ask for a mattress topper, alas too late for me!! but it may help someone else.

Breakfast was great, lots of choice and plenty of it.

All in all a good trip and I'm sure we will return.

Room Tip: Beach view villas are great

Thank you for your overall positive review of your second visit to Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak. One of our strengths, we feel, is the quiet natural environment that we are lucky enough to offer to our guests and both our restaurants are open in the evenings. As you are no doubt aware there are other local eateries further down the beach or our shuttle can run you into town with the option of a taxi should you wish to return late. We appreciate your kindness in stating that it is a matter of your personal choice and we thank you for the compliments to our staff. We sincerely hope that we will have the pleasure of seeing you both return in the future.

Yours sincerely,
The Management of Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak.

Our first impression upon arriving was the welcoming of the staff and the beautiful reception area. We stayed at Kantary for 8 days in a Villa and found it clean and spacious. The resort has 3 spacious pools with great outdoor surrounds. The food was amazing from breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Komson "Restaurant Captain" always greeted us upon arrival and his customer service was exceptional. We loved the bar pool on a hot afternoon and relaxed on the lounge chairs. At night great entertainment and the bar on top of the restaurant, was a perfect place to unwind, have a cocktail and take in the sunset. Thank you to all staff but especially a Komson for making our stay even better.
