Hong Island tour was amazing. Well worth the 4am start. Taking in James Bond Island while quiet. Caves and Kyack seeing wildlife. Interesting twist at the end with the lunch location.

Three temples was a good insight into the Buddhist religion and the beliefs behind it. Our guide on this tour (Teddy) was exceptional.

Thank Fobeye

Dear Fobeye

Great to see you enjoyed both of your excursions with us to the Hong Islands and 3 Temples. For those brave enough to rise at 4am its a nice way to see the islands at sunrise when they are quiet and peaceful. Always good to see guests choosing to experience the cultural side of Thailand by visiting the temples. Ee are pleased to hear Teddy was able to provide a good insight in the religion for you. Maybe try our Local life tour on your next visit. This is a unique tour offered only by Eco Khao Lak Adventure.

Kind Regards

Darren

This was a very enjoyable tour, we were collected at 8.20am from the Merlin in Khao Lak. We booked through Hans who was very good.

It was great value and a fully packed day. Our tour guide (Meaw) was very good, his English was very good and he had a good sense of humour, making little jokes all day. He was full of information & we spent some time chatting to him and learning lots about all sorts of things.

There were 10 of us on the tour, on a nice little minibus. Our long boat was waiting for us when we arrived. The James Bond island was beautiful and was worth a visit, we seemed to beat the main crowds which was good.

The floating village was good and Our tour guide gave us lots of information about street food and the islands setup, school etc. The food at the restaurant was nice and there was plenty.

The canoeing bit was great fun and we were lucky to have a funny lady who made our trip great fun. This part was very very hot but she tried to get us in the shade where she could. This isn’t the main caves I’ve seen on tourist videos but that said we had the river bit to ourselves and I preferred this.

Finally we visited a temple, we weren’t so fussed about this but it was a good little stop off and you get to see some monkeys.

The tour is very well organised and we had regular refreshments. I am usually put off doing tours due to the large amount of people and crowding, this isn’t the case with this operator. We would have loved to do more tours but we were only there a week, we will use them again in the future and I’d recommend them. As we went early in our trip, I was really worried I’d be too hot, but the boat is shaded with a great breeze, the restaurant was cool, the floating island route is mainly in the shade, the temple is in a cool cave and the mini bus has good air con.

Final note: I read a lot of reviews that said you should choose operators who offer speed boats. I disagree with this, the long boats are pretty speedy and give you time to look at the amazing surroundings.

Things to take: a camera, suncream & some smaller notes to tip along the way. We fell asleep on the bus on the way back and forgot to tip Meaw when we got off which we felt bad about as he did a great job.

Dear Sarah W

Thank you for your very detailed review Im sure this will help some people with their decision to visit the stunning Phang Nga Bay. As you noticed we always aim to keep our groups small and try to beat the crowds at the James Bond Island. We are happy to hear it was an enjoyable day for you. We strongly agree regarding the Speedboats, there is only one real way to experience the Islands and that is on the long tail boat. It is by far the best way to fully experience the scenery on offer.

We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday

Kind Regards

Darren

We also joined the all day safari on 18th March and just can confirm what lankarenw said! Mr. Phol told us much about the country, it's culture and history and about the Khao Sok national park. Even though we saw so many things in just one day we never felt stressed. The weather was perfect, just like the program. Feeding monkeys, having a relaxing raftingtour on a river in very beautiful landscape and of course feeding and bathing a pregnant elephant named Pangvassana! After that Mr. Phol showed us the sunday market of Takuapa where he bought us lots of different thai food. Definitely a great tour!

Undertook Khao Lak Safari to Khao Sok NP two days ago (Mar 2018). An excellent trip led by our guide May. Numerous different elements to trip; local market, feeding monkeys @ temple, local Thai lunch, water rafting along Sok river and elephant feeding & bathing. Unlike many other tour operators, Eco Khao Lak does not promote elephant riding/trekking as this is being discouraged for tourists for the well being of the elephants.

Dear Wolfgang F

Thank you for your review of our Khao Sok Safari we are glad you found our tour and guide to be excellent. As you mention it is very important for us not to support Elephant trekking and we are happy to be able to offer people a chance to witness the beauty of the National Park without having to sign up for the riding.

We hope on your next visit you can try our Seaside Retreat Camp located in Khao Lak to experience the Elephants again.

Kind Regards

Darren
