We stayed in may for 8 nights, yes it can rain in Thailand in may but it really did not matter. The pool residence was fantastic, and staff are the most friendliest people you will ever meet. The food is second to none and having a sparkling wine breakfast every morning, need I say anymore. We have travelled to some of the best hotels in the world and by far this has been the best one we have stayed in. I really wound ignore and bad reviews about this hotel because you cannot please everyone. The hotel pick up and drop off is well worth the extra money. We would like to thank Dawid and all the staff for a wonderful stay and look forward to seeing you all again soon

WARNING - long review!

There is no doubt that the Sarojin is a beautiful resort - the grounds are immaculate, the accommodation is perfect and the staff are eager to please...

However, we left feeling less than impressed at what was meant to be our honeymoon in heaven.

We stayed for 10 nights in early May - and upon first impression were amazed by the tranquility of the resort. We were upgraded for the first 4 nights of our stay from a Pool Residence to a Sarojin suite which was fantastic - we did prefer the pool villa but if you want some extra space, by all means, book the suite. For those that have complained about privacy of the pool villa - there is really no issue with this at all - having stayed in both the suite (upper level) and the pool villa, unless the people in the suites want to perch on the edge of their balconies to peer into your pool (highly unlikely!) you have nothing to worry about!

Breakfast, as everyone has commented is fantastic but it does get boring after a few days - we really did struggle to choose what to have in the morning but if you are staying for a shorter amount of time, I'm sure you'll love it.

The food is exquisite in both restaurants - we preferred to eat at the Edge with the sea views. However, the food was quite expensive, even by resort standards (pricing was comparable to dining out at home).

The resort offers a regular shuttle into Bang Niang and Bang La On (100 baht each way) - one gripe is that with the prices you pay to stay here, the shuttle should really be complimentary.

We had organized a waterfall dinner to celebrate our honeymoon and were really looking forward to it - unfortunately for us, the weather wasn't great and the dinner had to be moved to the spa. Whilst it was still lovely, and the resort isn't in control of the weather, we did hope that we would be offered something to compensate for this. For those wondering, whilst it was definitely romantic, I don't think it is value for money. The cost was just over $700 for the dinner PLUS we had to pay for our wine on top of this! Their advertising about this is very deceptive (as when you look at the menu for your dinner it has mention of the wines but no mention of any additional cost!) as we had expected that at this price, at least one bottle of wine would be included!

As part of our package, we were told we would have a last night romantic turn down (this was also confirmed via email to us about a month or so before we arrived). However, this did not happen which was a huge disappointment. When we double checked our email, we realised that they also hadn't organized our degustation meal which was part of our package as we were staying for 7 consecutive nights on our honeymoon.

When we checked out - we spoke to the rooms manager about this - and were very disappointed with the response! For starters, we were told that they had decided to do a first night romantic turn down - which we refused as we were tired from travelling. Also, we were expecting this to happen on the last night as confirmed with the front desk!

We weren't offered any explanation as to why we hadn't received our degustation meal - only were told that they would hope that we would have a better stay next time! We were polite and kept our cool despite being very disillusioned and assured management that we would not be back. Once we said this, management offered to reimburse the cost of the degustation.

We left feeling quite upset - our honeymoon in heaven did not turn out the way we planned - in fact, it had ended quite badly.

I've no doubt that the majority of people have a positive experience at The Sarojin but we are very sorry to say that we will not be back next year and will be staying elsewhere!

Stayed for 10 nights in May, what a fab hotel, we stayed in a suite room. All the staff were fantastic. It was great having the all day breakfast. We usually went out cycling most days and then had breakfast about 2.30 p.m!! We only ate at the Edge most nights and the food was fantastic. Had one night in town taking their bus service and had a good night. They picked us up at 10.30 to bring us back to the hotel. I did a Thai cooking course with Dang which is highly recommended. She first took me to the market (very interesting) and then we did the cooking back at the hotel. She made it seem so easy. She cooked most nights for us and we must say she is an excellent cook and also a very nice person. This hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We went to the barbecue twice which was on and the Bahrain night which were both fantastic.

Have been there with my wife in Oct 2011. It is a calm and relaxing paradise, staff is always there but not visible, the food (prepared by chief Gogh) is outstanding --> had my best italian Gnocchi ever there, and I'm really travelling a lot to Italy :-) ... The rooms are in a traditional style, the bathroom is amazing.

We had an unforgetable day on the hotel's own boat "Lady Sarojin", the rest of the week we were just relaxing on the white beach or close to the phantastic pool.

Last but not least: We will definitely return in Oct 2012.

We stayed 6 nights at the Sarojin and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It was amazing to walk out of the Phuket airport and walk straight into the awaiting private car to be driven to the resort. The cool towels and drinks were much appreciated.

Everyone there was very diligent in their service and made sure our every need was looked after.

The food was exceptional and we really enjoyed the BBQ on the beach. Breakfast each day was a great way to start and my wife enjoyed the champagne!

We stayed for two weeks recently on our Honeymoon, and had a fantastic time a very good recommendation by Trailfinders! Due to problems with our flights we arrived late, however the Sarojin transfer service chap kindly waited several hours for us, which was to be the start of absolutely fantastic service for the duration of our stay. On arrival we received an upgrade to a Sarojin suite, after having initially booked a Pool room, again great service.

Throughout our stay all the staff offered fantastic service, were very welcoming and did so much to make our stay perfect. The resort itself is in an ideal location, with idyllic surroundings, and a brilliant layout. The grounds are stunning, and our suite 607 was superb, the suite offered so much space, was cleaned regularly and offered a great deal of privacy for us to relax. Great extra touches such as being able to choose which style of pillow we would like really highlighted the quality of the Sarojin and the service being offered.

We had a private meal in our suite one evening, which again was superb, so well planned and laid out, with so much food to choose from, big thanks to Sak for arranging that for us, very much appreciated. Options were also included to have a private meal on the beach - again an excellent choice, and both the resort restaurants were superb with absolutely perfect service. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts with a great selection and all very tasty, and as with all the meals prepared to a very high standard - we were spoilt for choice.

We spent much of our honeymoon at the Sarojin as it really is an excellent resort that offers everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. We almost felt guilty that we had not been into town that much, aside from the odd few excursions to visit the elephants, bamboo rafting, and others, however as mentioned the Sarojin is such an excellent resort there was little need to go elsewhere.

We felt the no children policy was also excellent, as it made for a resort where we could relax and enjoy our honeymoon in peace and quiet, we only wish there were more resorts like this.

We cannot wait to come back again very very pleased, thank you to everyone at the Sarojin.

What can we say, one of the best Resorts we have ever stayed in.

Again we are complete converts to a no children policy, there are plenty of places to take your kids, but when you want total peace and tranquility, sorry to say that most parents dont get it when it comes to thinking we all enjoy hearing your kids run around and yell.

We stayed at the Sarojin for 5 days and it was magnificent. From the time we arrived the staff were simply beautiful and every attention to detail was the norm not the exception. We would like to thank all the staff for the stunning way our room was presented on our anniversay and the housekeeperes surprised my wife everyday with something new to enhance the experience. We were given the Lady Sarojin Suite near the Edge restaraunt it was stunning, but I am sure all the rooms are stunning as well.
This place is like sitting within your own botanic garden surrounded by the pool and water lily pond which is magnificent to walk to for brreafast and comes alive at night with the frogs and crickets. The beach is 100mts away and to sit here is sensational. We both thought that breakfast by the lily pond under the umbrellas, starting off with Champagne, was probably the most beautiful breakfast we have ever had and again the staff were like your own personal waiters; congratulations to all of you.

Take the Lady Sarojin boat trip out to the Simien Islands and be blown away with the turtles waiting around the boat when you stop.Lunch is fit for a 5 star restarauant, and crew will spoil you with the drinks and food on board as well. Thanks guys we had a awesome day!
Both restaraunts were stunning, but the edge right on the beach was unfogettable and very reasonably priced.
If you walk onto the beach and turn left about 200mts down the beach you can also get excellent bistro type meals at excellent prices in the new resort next door. Or turn right and go over the water channel to dine in typical Thai beach hut salas. Both fantastic. At appox 4pm each day you can see the baby elephant at the Le Meriden resort for a hour or so, its about a 2k walk to the right along the beach.
Dawid was the manager and no detail was left unattended, and it was a real pleasure to pass on our appreciation to you and the magnificent staff you have working here. Dawid also told us about a fund the Sarojin support for a local orphange which was established after the tsunamai and welcome any guest to donate to the fund if they wished..it was pleasure to do do. My wife was in tears as we drove off with Dawid and staff all out to see us off on the day of departure.

Do yourselves a huge favour and spoil yourselves at this magnificent resort.
Simply could not fault it.
Its resorts and staff like this that rejeuvenate the true spirit of Thailand to you when you have been away for some years. It will refreash your belief that the very best in people and how we should treat and respect each other is still real and alive.
Thankyou for a beautiful experience.
