A three hour drive from Bangkok saw us arriving at this delightful hotel situated a short walk from the beach. Laid back from the main road, it was quiet and peaceful which is precisely what you want for a relaxing break.
Checking in was simple and we were offered a chilled orange juice before being taken to our room, directly by the pool. All staff were polite and professional and spoke good English.
The room itself was enormous and even offered a spare bedroom, with an equally spacious bathroom (which, while a wet room, it was designed well enough to keep most of the flooring dry).
With ample space for storage, a large bed and good lighting the room further offered quiet air conditioning, flat screen TV, in-room wi-fi that for the most part worked without problem (the signal did drop occasionally but it didn’t prove too much of a concern), mini-fridge and in-cupboard safe. There was also a DVD player with a selection of films available to borrow form the Reception library.
Every effort was made to make the room comfortable and attractive with a corner sofa and coffee table present and a kettle to provide tea/coffee, plus complimentary drinking water bottles.
The swimming pool was quite charming with a small water feature in one corner and a lagoon styling that made the whole experience a little more exotic. The swimming pool was quite charming with a small water feature in one corner and a lagoon styling that made the whole experience a little more exotic. Day beds/loungers were dotted around the pool and there were plenty of towels to hand.
Breakfast was good with eggs and bacon cooked to order plus cereals, toast, ham, jams and fruit, accompanied by a choice of juices. Worth getting out of bed for.
The only negative points were that the TV offered no English speaking channels (at least that we could find) and the rooms had plenty of mosquitoes to contend with. The hotel must be aware of this problem as they had laid out an electronic plug in device, creams and various other precautions to ward of these ever present nuisances.
