We stayed at Kanchanaburi Dheva Mantra Resort & Spa for 1 night, as a taking off place to go hiking at nearby Erawan Park. It was about a 25-30 minute drive away, and made our hikes there much more accessible and easy going, then having to drive 3+ hours from Bangkok.
The resort itself is beautiful. Full of nature and spacious, it felt like we were in our little world.
The staff was wonderful and very welcoming.
If there was ONE, negative, it would be a rather minor point.
This would be the kitchen staff.
We went to eat at the hotel restaurant for our only night there, and the wait was incredibly long. As in not 20 minutes or 35 minutes, it was 50 minutes from the time we made our order until he food came. Now, if it was a 30-minute wait on a busy day, I would not mind. That night, there was only 2 other parties present and one was already eating when we arrived, so it was a great mystery to us in regards to why they took so long. It wasn't enough to dampen the trip or the night overall, but at the moment, it was incredibly frustrating. I would be most appreciative if the hotel could reconsider its staffing in regards to the kitchen for their hotel.
Thank Dheva Mantra for the exquisite weekend!More
