When I saw this place on trip adviser I thought 'the kids are gonna love this!' In truth I must admit I was looking forward to it myself. Sleeping in an honest to goodness tree house, next to the great River Kwai, what could be better?
It is in fact a great resort, there are some lovely quirky cabins and you can see that at some time in the past someone had some brilliant ideas and a pocket full of dosh!
The kids had great fun exploring the place, there is a rope bridge and a zip slide across a pond. You can use their kyaks free of charge and paddle off up (or down) the Kwai as this resort is set right on the river. The tree houses and the cave houses are funky cabins in trees and caves, just as their name would suggest.
So no real complaints there then?
Well yes, actually.
It was all something of an anticlimax to be honest. For a start we were the only guests there which was probably just as well as there didn't appear to be many staff either. The whole place has an air of good times gone by, and seems to be suffering from some chronic malaise.
Every thing is a bit tired and it's one of those places that I find mildly disconcerting because I can't help thinking how wonderful it would be if they did something radical like encouraging people to visit the place!

Just simple stuff like a proper website, adequate staff with a decent level of spoken English and a 'hello, how is your stay?' would make all the difference.

I sincerely hope they manage to rejuvenate their fortunes here, is is a super place with great potential. Worth a visit especially with kids.

On forehand I had a perfect email contact with the resort. They responded very quickly in perfect english. I could arrange everything by mail, even pick up from the trainstation, car+driver and a tour and a birtdaycake with personal message on the actual b-day for my 4 year old! But....when we came, we were the only guests and the next two days there was no one, really NO ONE of the staff who could speak a word english. Not a single word like ' hello' ' toast' or ' juice' and so on. And our Thai was that good (ie we didn't speak any of course...). So to organise and arrange things, it was terrible. Even de cardriver who took us on a tour did not speak ane single word english, so it went all wrong to get where we wanted to go. We ended up talking to a sort of superviser on the cellphone first and that didn;t quite work out, so we spoke to a manager higher up (still don;t know who he was...). That sort of spoiled one day. So: if this resort wants to keep up with all the other resort on the banks of the river Kwai, they absolutely need professional and english speaking staff there. Food (breakfast/diner) was okay, more variety in drinks for kids (no juice, no milk) would be nice. At this point I would not recommend this hotel to friends....sorry.

i had a chance to visit kanchanaburi with my boyfriend. i found this place on travel festival at sirikit convention center. it's very best deal so i bought it but if i have to pay full price to go there "i have to think a lot and maybe not. This resort is so cute decoration but the room very small and the bed r so suck. it's too small for 2 peoples. i didn't sleep good at all. it's spring bed, irelly hurt my back. But for the light, AC, refrigerator and hot water was ao nice. it's like 4 stars hotel. The breakfast that came with package was so bad very oily. They don't have good food, so u have to go out for dinner. From kanchanaburi town, u have to drive around 12 km. to get in and out. At night when u drive back to the resort it hard cause no light on the street. I like this place cause quiet and privacy (maybe i went there on weekday). The only thing is u have to buy the package on discount price so i would recommend to go there. if u pay full price i recommend u to go some where else.

It was so hard to find a nice treehouse in a resort, at least in Thailand. But At last and luckiliest WE FOUND IT.

The resort is very very lovely. I would not hesitate even a second to recommend this place for any traveller to Kanchanaburi.

We were three, parents and our 5 yr old son. We stayed in treehouse no. 1. Inside was abit small, but what do you expect from a treehouse!!. It was ensuited with the shower/toilet room with hot water. infact, I was quite surprised with the quality of the stuff they used i.e. LG air con unit and Sealy mattress. From the look I would say they were less than 6 months old. So everything was pretty brand new. One thing negative though, the toilet! You would not believe the used the kindergarten toilet for real. See my picture. perhaps it is us who are oversized.

for resort facilities, they have very nice restaurant and sitting area by the river. You can enjoy not only evening but all day indeed. They have wooden beds and stone camping tables. It was really relaxing to just lie down and watch the river run. oh they have canoes for rent also. We did it for the first time had so much fun already.

Breakfast was good and the staff was super friendly. In all this place was a paradise to us. Especially because the place is just 10 minutes from Kanchanaburi town.

Try it and you will know what I'm talking about
