I wrote a review on the Phi Phi page too, but Chet's bar is actually on Phi Phi so not sure how it wound up here. Posting my (long- sorry in advance) review here too so it's covered in both places!

We found the Knock Out bar while exploring the village behind our resort on our first night in Phi Phi. Chet and his team were so friendly and welcoming, chatting with us and attempting to teach us a few words in Thai (pronunciation is not one of my strengths as it turns out).

We had a few drinks and inquired about his private tours of the islands and he let us know that he needed a minimum of 4 people and only ever takes a max of 6 on his boat and at that point there were just two of us interested for the next day (late April is the start of low season and the island was pretty quiet). But he told us that if no one signed up, he would just take us out the day after even if there weren't two more! We were leaving for Karon that day and he also offered to bring our bags along in his boat on the trip and drop us at the ferry to Phuket afterwards, which was incredibly nice of him and made our lives a lot easier. We had lunch there the next day to check in on how many people had signed up, and the food was good and the price right. Chet's wife cooks everything to order and you can tell the difference when you're eating it! We had curry and pad see ew and both were great.

There were still only two of us for the tour at that point and we finalized the details at the same time during lunch. Chet wanted to start earlier than usual (7am, yikes!) to make sure we got to see everything and didn't miss our ferry. The next morning he even called us at 6am to confirm that the weather was good and to make sure we were awake. We had a couple girls join us last minute to avoid the big resort tour because Chet's sounded better and off we went!

Tour was fabulous! He used to work for Phi Phi Island Village Resort and Zeavola as a snorkel and dive tour guide so knows the route all the tours take and goes the opposite way! We started in the most amazing lagoon and no one else was there yet- it was absolutely stunning, especially with only 4 of us! We went to Maya Beach before all the boats started rolling in (although it seems to be consistently busy there- even during low season), went snorkeling in a few areas and saw many fish, a couple sea snakes, and a bunch of black tip reef sharks. Topped it off with a stop at a quiet little beach for lunch and then a quick trip to Monkey Beach before dropping us off at the ferry. Bonus: he takes a bunch of photos with his underwater camera and emails them to you afterwards.

All in all an amazing experience all around and I cannot recommend Chet enough! Try the food and drinks, book a tour, and get to know this wonderful family. Well worth it!

Chet the owner is sound! Does a great trip to Maya Bay! Includes snorkelling with sharks and visit to monkey beach! Has loads of knowledge about diving and the sights around Phi Phi islands! Great trip and great value! If you are staying at Outrigger go see him at Knock Out bar behind the hotel in the village! Trips with hotel are expensive as is the food for Thailand! Nice food at his bar too! Highly recommend his trip! My girlfriend is not a great swimmer and had never snorkelled before, he got in with her held her hand and pointed out all the underwater sights! Fair play!

Not sure why there are two TripAdvisor pages for this place.

The food: 4 stars. The excursion, 5.

We were in Bangkok for awhile before coming to Phi Phi, so we had already had our fair share of amazing Thai food. Knock Out Bar food is tasty and you can watch them cook it, but it is not the BEST food I've ever had. The excursion with Mr. Chet however, is totally worth it. He is experienced, knowledgeable, amiable, professional, and well-prepared for the trip. He also takes pictures during the entire trip, including underwater ones when you go scuba diving, so it's pretty awesome. He brought ice-cold water for us, and had fresh pineapples, fried rice, and cold soda for us for lunch. 100% recommend the excursion.

Though... I did end up getting tiny little jellyfish stings from miniscule jellyfish while snorkeling, but as my husband's stings only look like pinpricks and don't bother him at all, I'm going to go with me being more allergic to the stings and having swam into more tiny, impossible-to-make-out, jellyfish. Totally still worth it though.
