Nice food. Big portions. Has decent vegetarian options. Try the poppadoms with salsa. They are tasty :)

The Thai wife and I had dinner here recently. We were the only customers and enjoyed the focus of the service staff. Our visit started with a bit of excitement as the Thai wife fell backwards off a low bench after sitting down on the end of it rather than the middle, only three legs on it...beware.

We ordered four dishes which turned out to be too many as the servings were far larger than expected. We ordered a battered shrimp dish, a Burmese pork meatballs dish, a Burmese potato cakes dish and the wife a spicy minced pork dish. We enjoyed all of the food although the two Burmese dishes needed a little salt added to bring out the flavours. Unfortunately we had no room for any dessert and were shattered to learn they were not open the next day...we had planned to breakfast there on the basis of the TripAdvisor reviews I'd read.

We only spent one night in MHS but ate here twice. Dinner was decent- there are Western, Thai and Burmese options. We had Burmese popadoms with dip, potato & aubergine curry and beef & pineapple curry with sticky rice. All were tasty and not at all spicy. They were more stews than curries really. The beef was our favourite, a bit sweet and tasting of lemongrass. The potato & aubergine had less flavour but never having eaten Burmese food before I can’t really comment. The only thing we didn’t like was that both curries were quite oily for our taste. The beer was cheaper than most other restaurants and overall the dinner was very good value. The next day we returned for breakfast as it was a lot cheaper than our hotel and with lots of options. Wow! It was really excellent! The banana pancake was amazing- American style, light, fluffy and huge! The scrambled eggs were delicious and a very generous serving. They came with fantastic toast - as good as my own homemade! Coffee was also great and again prices more than reasonable. Lastly, some reviewers have complained about the service being slow so we ordered our dinner and settled down for a long wait. This proved to be totally unnecessary. We were served immediately and our orders came out promptly as did the second round of drinks. The same at breakfast. Great service! I only wish we were spending another night here so we could return for another breakfast! Don’t miss it!

Ate here 3 times with friends while doing the MSH loop. Had two very good (western) breakfasts, with a lot of bacon, very good toasts, fresh juice and eggs. Also had a Burmese dinner, where me and my friends ordered 9 dishes to share, which was probably the best food we had while in northern Thailand. Staff is very friendly, menu is extensive, when in MHS I will no doubt go here to eat.

Only had the Burmese food. Told them to bring me whatever. There were western items on menu. Unique and delicious.
