We recently stayed at Sawaddi with our 2 young children. Room was standard but thats all we needed. Staff are super friendly, food was great, pool is fantastic. On out last day we were getting picked up at 4pm to head back to the airport, check out is 12 but because we have a toddler they allowed us to stay in our room til 4pm at no extra charge. Was nice to be away from the main street but close enough to walk down there to shop etc.

We have book this hotel for about 12 days over x-mas/ new year (3510 THB/night, 30 square meters). Unfortunately it was a peak season and this has been shown the true face of this hotel.

At check in, they first let us wait for about 30 minutes without any welcome drink or other refreshments. Afterwards, we were charged for an additional bed (for our 14 years old daughter 980 THB/night!!!) although on their website it is mentioned that this superior room accommodates up to 3 adults OR 2 adults and 2 children. Finally we got a room in the first floor which was located directly to the main street side and the main hotel entrance. Very loud during the day/night and once per day there was a bus parking in front of the hotel entrance with a running engine (aircon). We asked to change the room but the refused it with the answer that they are fully booked. We also had to stay for at least 5 nights.

Furthermore, the room maid was apparently pretty new and it seemed that she never had a rags in here hands. The bed linen was changed every 3-4 days. Then there were either missing towels, toilet paper or the tea bags which were also regularly forget. The balcony floor for example wasn’t cleaned at all and it was left to the customer to decide whether the floor needs to be cleaned by themselves or not.

Regarding free WiFi, it’s like a joke. Once per week you’ve got an access code which was valid for about 3 hours then we could wait for the rest of the week to get a new access code. The hotels WiFi connection reliability was also ugly however, after further analysis I figured out that their DNS server provided with the WiFi acccess point was somehow obsolete hence I change my settings to a Swiss DNS server (do not expect that from anybody which is not well aware how TCP/IP in the Internet works…). Fortunately I had my smartphone with me so I could use the tethering feature (mobile hotspot) over the DTAC 3G connection (Unlimited package for 700 THB) and everybody in our room could use my phone as a much more reliable WiFi access point than the hotels one.

Finally when we had to left to the airport, they tried to charge us for a taxi with 950 THB which is definitely a rip off. We then organized a public taxi for 600 THB which was parked in front of the hotel. I remember that other hotels around the world are offering free airport transports if you stay longer than 5 days…

I personally had the impressions that whenever possible I’ve got ripped off by the offers they all had, hence I do not recommend to anybody to book this hotel!

BTW: meanwhile, on their website they also have removed the “post a comment button” in their “review” section...

This was the first hotel stop in my itinerary through my trip with a group I was traveling with. It was most welcoming and a true gem on this busy road.I had a warm welcome on arrival by the reservations manager who came out to my car to greet me! I was most impressed as I work in the hotel industry and have trained eye for detail and those little extra delights. My room was ready on arrival and it was such a pleasure to stay in. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfast restaurant was most pleasant and enjoyable to sit at. It had a great flow to it looking out onto the swimming pool which was a great highlight of this hotel. It is really big and has plenty of loungers for you. You never short of one no matter what time of day you rock up. Each day of our stay it was a pleasure to sit in the lobby area while our group gathered and watch the passing scene or flip through a magazine or book from the book shelf found around the corner as well as there was one at the breakfast area. I did also use the gym on a few occasions and it was well equipped with great pieces of equipment to use. Thanks to Jarunee(reservations manager) and Tum on the front desk for their pleasant and helpful manner each time I had questions. The location was great as well. It was walking distance to the shopping centre as well as there are scheduled complimentary shuttles to the centre. (don't let the taxi drivers rip you off...it's about a 20 minute walk) All in all a most pleasant stay and a great hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool are great however it comes at a cost of music playing at the poolside...

Greetings from the team at Sawaddi Patong Resort.

We are truly delighted to hear we have succeeded to impress you and make your stay with us so memorable. Indeed, those little details you speak of are very much a focus of our services to all guests as we know the importance of making all our clients feel wanted, as indeed they very much are.

It seems you have tried out many of our facilities from the large pool to the gym and shuttle bus to town, so a really comprehensive review, and we thank you for taking the time to make it as such.

Should you ever find yourself back in Patong, we would be honoured if you would stay with us again.
Sincere best wishes.

After one nights mistake down t'road at the hillside i found this place by some quirk of fate (OK suggested to me by a patron at Yorkshire Inn). They saved my last 3 nights and for that i will be eternally grateful. To be honest i was quite shocked their prices were as low as they were as from the outside it looks like a 4-5 star place and on the inside it is superb value.

Breakfast, got the be one of the best buffet spreads i have had since Chiang Mai 2003. Beds worth a special mention also. Service superb, really cute smiley bunch who you just want to hug and pack in your suitcase. Bit of a hike (took me 13 minutes) back to the bars and beach etc, but then after walking the first day they told me about the bus i can take laid on by the hotel........nice to know, eventually! OK, i can see whay it is located where it is as the last thing you want is to be shacked up by the bars and beach and shops as you would never sleep. So at least here you get your rest.

Defo a good choice and i would recommend it above all i have stayed in so far over the year i have been going to Patong, especially when considering what you get for your pennie/satang.

Room Tip: Any of them.....and free wi-fi that works very well. All hotels should offer free wi-fi.

Greetings from the team at Sawaddi Patong.

We are truly very grateful for you taking the time to write these kind words about our resort in Phuket where you stayed recently. Indeed our breakfast spread is often a very popular feature of reviews here, something I know the team and chef there have worked very hard on to get right in recent months.

You are quite right about our location also, being tucked away in a quiet corner of a very busy town is crucial for those who want and demand a good nights sleep. But of course at the same time we must remain within an easy commute for those who want to sample the nightlife and night times markets etc, hence the free shuttle bus service you have picked up on.

If you find yourself back in Patong once again in the next year, please do remember to look us up.
Sincere best wishes.

i havnt stayed here. am staying nearby. thought i would check out there restaurant for breakfast but was turned down.
i walked into the restaurant and asked if i may order breakfast if not staying at the resort. all the lady said was "not here"... ok. so i left.
judging by the signs outside the resort they obviously do serve breakfast but im not going to argue about it. judging by other reveiws probably not missing much.

The rooms are very modern, ultra clean and beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping do a sterling job. Ample choice of food at breakfast time including someone that will make you an omlette! Big swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers available. Only issue I found was that there was no lift, this is not so bad as reception arrange for your bags to be taken up to your room on arrival. It's about 10-15 minute walk to Bangla Road, not so bad. Free wifi is available!

Room Tip: There is a really reasonably priced massage parlour next to the hotel, it is called Thongyiam Massag...

Greetings from Sawaddi Patong Resort

Many thanks for taking the time to write such kind words about your recent stay with us here on Phuket Island. It sounds if you have enjoyed just about every aspect a guest can enjoy.

I will be sure to pass on your complements to our kitchen and service staff (housekeeping included of course). In fact we do now operate a free shuttle bus service to and from Bangla Road, the shops and beach there, so if one does not fancy the 10 – 15 minute walk and window shopping they are free to use this service.

We do hope to see you here again with us sometime in the future.

Sincere regards from us here.

Greetings from Sawaddi Patong Resort

Many thanks for your good review of our resort here on Phuket island. Indeed it is important that you have noted for others that our resort is so well located in the town so that it can be quiet and peaceful for guests but also within a few minutes on the free shuttle service we run to the very centre of all the action, nightlife, shopping malls and beach. It is indeed the best of both worlds we offer here at Sawaddi Patong.

Many thanks for choosing to stay with us, and we would hope that one day we will see you here again.

Sincere regards from us all here.
