Me, my husband and my 2 daughters (9 & 11) stayed here in May 2015 for 2 weeks.

Yes this hotel is basic but for £388 per person (2weeks all inc) it was a absolute bargain.

very friendly.
*The manager Gacim was lovely enough to take us to the beach to show us which area belonged to the hotel (meaning free water, sunbeds and parasol)
* Hatem - young waiter who always had a smile on his face and after only a few times remembered our drinks order and would bring them over without asking.
* Senior waiter and all other waiters - again also very friendly.
* Both main chefs again very helpful and although they didn't speak the best English they would always try to help.
* Cake man - 4pm he would always bring us cake and make us popcorn, even when we had been on a trip until 6:30 (after snack time) - he made some especially for us.
*Reception staff - Always a friendly hello, good service when changing money and ordering taxi's etc.
* Man in the hotel shop: Always smiley, happy to help (when our lilo deflated)
*Yousseff - We booked a trip through Yousseff as Thomas cook didn't provide the same package
We went by horse and carriage through the little side streets so we could see the real djerba, we went to blue lagoon and then onto the crocodile farm. Yousseff came with us, so was our tour guide and photographer. we paid £60 for the four of us!!! Was a brilliant day.
* Thomas cook rep - Abdol - Lovely man, who just wanted all his guests to be happy. Saw him around the hotel regularly.
The staff couldn't have been nicer and all you had to do was ask and they'd pretty much sort.
Thank you.

big, walk in wardrobe, children slept in the living area whilst we had our on bedroom.

lovely setting, beautiful flowers

Good, although very samey, but I think this was because of the small number of guests - (making lots of different dishes would have just been a waste.)
Breakfast - omelettes, pancakes, cake, bread. plus cheese, ham etc.
Dinner & tea - Salads, chicken, beef dish, fish dish, rice. potatoes/chips and lots of French bread.

As we went early season the hotel was very quiet so the entertainment was very limited.
However Toto was lovely and we joined in with bowls, darts and gymnastics when we was not reading or in the pool.

Fellow guests:
Mixture of English, French, Tunisian and Libyan all very friendly apart from one English lady who was just rude and couldn't manage a simple hello.

Room tip: I think the first floor rooms had big balcony's where as the ground floor rooms had tiny ones.

What a super little hotel very quiet when we visited and the so there were not enough people to open the dinning room and we ate near the pool .
The food was a little samey until the hotel filled up and a buffet was laid on however, I can recommend the bric ....a crispy pancake/ omelette
My daughter and I traveled out separately , she was delayed and so for the first 2 nights I stayed alone , at no time did I feel uncomfortable the staff were solicitous and seemed genuinely concerned at her elongated complicated journey
The chambermaids were fantastic
A little French goes a long way
If you have a young family then the pool is the main attraction

having read the reviews prior to our arrival, we had slight trepidation of what to expect. However, upon our arrival, our fears were quickly dispelled by the warm welcome we received by the staff. The accommodation was more than satisfactory, all meals were good, no problems with the service, fantastic pool area, short walk to the hotels private beach. Sheets & towels changed daily, room cleaned daily to high spec with beautiful personal floral touches, from the chamber maids. All round good experience, general consensus with other guests we spoke to. we plan to return again this September. :)

Room tip: free wifi available in reception area, no wifi in rooms.

Had great relaxing week. Staff very friendly, helpful. Service was excellent. Food was served hot and very varied, very enjoyable meals. Pool cleaned regularly. Rooms very large and cleaned every day, clean towels provided, with little added touches with towels from room service. Private section on the beach 5 minute walk. Staff very helpful and friendly. Couldn't off asked for more. Am looking to book again towards end of the year

In respect we should have left within a couple of days, we had two rooms one for my partner and myself the other for our son. first room was unacceptable, for us, son's room ok, moved to a better room next day, most days NO water from any taps in bathroom, complained every day about this. kitchen and dinning room was dirty + flies every where, food, not good, my partner went down with tummy bug, very rare for her in all our travels, Drinks Not worth a mention, as others have said very limited, other than the shops near the hotel there is nothing to do in the evening, one bar open outside hotel where you could buy cocktails, and other drinks, but besides there Nothing local. . the beach which is close by, 5 mins walk, is good but don't use the hotels beach UUUGGG, find a space any where you like, plenty of space for all....Unfortunately the whole of the Island is one large rubbish tip, every where you go Rubbish piled high.... WE do not really both about what people say on trip adviser, other wise you would never go on holiday, but this time we should have stayed away from this hotel and may be Djerba.... the whole island need to be cleaned up and the hotels need to realise the service they give at the moment is totally unacceptable for any one who come here for a holiday.... as you may gather form this we shall not be returning until every thing improves, which is a shame because the people here are really lovely and very helpful ...... Richard.
