Huge rooms, excellent service, high standard of cleanliness but I had to keep nagging to get vegan meals. Unfortunately the French influence means they use a lot of dairy, mostly unnecessarily, and I couldn't persuade them that they shouldn't put bits of ham and fish in the some of the salads but serve them separately. My information about the proportion of vegetarians among the sort of people likely to stay there fell on deaf ears. However full marks for the vegetable couscous, the vegan brik and the fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
The only real downside was the abundance of con-men & sexual predators on the beach. BEWARE of someone claiming to have found a coin (pound, euro, dollar ....) and asking you for half a dinar in exchange because he'll try to grab your wallet. Money is best kept in a zipped trouser pocket. Take out only what you'll need and lock the rest in the safe in the wardrobe.

The hotel is a fairly good hotel compared to the hotels in Tunis. The rooms are nice comfortable and clean with a nice bathroom and terrace. The beach area is excellent and the water is clean, the infinity pool and it's deck is great too. The breakfast is barely average, the quality of food at breakfast is not excellent but fair, but try the restaurant on the beach for the best seafood you will ever have, and very friendly staff at the beach restaurant. Reception staff are not very helpful and friendly, and the reception looks a little outdated. The spa at the hotel is a must, with a very professional and friendly team, those people really know what their doing, i tried almost all their massages and they were all great, in addition to the great tunisian hammam. I went to hammamet during winter and that was a big mistake, as the town is dead in winter and lively only in summer, there was not much to do when i went so i ended up spending a lot of my time in the hotel. maybe if i visited in summer i would have gave it higher ratings.

This hotel seems to be one of the few in Hammamet close enough to easily walk into town and that gives it a definite plus. I was glad not to be staying in Yasmine, as it looked abandoned and as though it has seen much better days. The Sindbad room was excellent. One complaint was that the shampoo and shower gel weren't renewed as I used them during the week stay, but I'm sure that I'd get more if I asked.

Fresh flowers were put into the room each day, it was clean, staff were very courteous. Room has excellent storage space, a fridge where I was able to store my own sodas from outside, bathroom, flatscreen TV with a few English language stations and great heating. The nights can be very cold. The patio to the room was very peaceful and great for sitting out in the fresh air, listening to the birds and reading.

The hotel infinity pool looks beautiful. Too cold for me, but really attractive looking as is the bar next to it in a contemporary style of decor. Beach is very clean at the hotel area. Internet works (can be slow) and is free - wifi even extended to my room which was in one of the more isolated spots in the gardens.

Would recommend!

The downsides: I found most staff very friendly, but the reception staff were only used to dealing with people on package tours and they could have been more helpful to me as a solo traveller. Information for solo travellers was lacking, but in Hammamet proper there's a tourist office right on the promenade run by a really efficient woman who can book tours effortlessly. I also thought signage in the hotel was a bit poor as was the information about the restaurants on site.

This must be one of the best hotels in Tunisia. It is set on the beach and 3 pools and 3 restaurants but it still seems to offer a personal service. Rooms are set in lovely tranquil gardens and you wake to the sound of birdsong. Breakfasts and dinners are wonderful as the plentiful fruit and vegetables are so fresh. Although just out of town Reception are happy to arrange taxis with or without a driver so you can explore further afield.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely and unless you are unlucky to have an extremely noisy neighbour you should have...

This was the 5th time we came to the Sindbad and as before, we were not disappointed. The service is excellent and the choice of Restaurant is superb. The pub is not impressive but otherwise no complaints. The a la carte restaurant is a must and the rooms are large, clean and well kept. A great beach location and excellent golf facilities. We'll be back next year. Staff friendly and most helpful. A truly 5 star establishment

Room Tip: All rooms are large, clean and quiet

We stayed at the Sindbad, Hammamet from 15-19 Dec 2011. The hotel is excellent. The rooms look like they have been renovated recently and they are tastefully furnished. We dined at the Thai restaurant twice & the fine dining restaurant for dinners and the restaurant by the beach for lunch. All were excellent. There is an "English Pub" onsite that has a bar, pool tables etc which we also used and enjoyed as a bit of a wind down before dinner. The internet in the lobby area is free but slow.
All the rooms are scattered throughout the garden setting. You can wander through the gardens until you find the beach. Along the beach there is a restaurant and a pool club/bar area which looked really great. If I was visiting Hammamet again I would definately stay here again. Could not have been better.

I used to live in Tunis and the Sindbad was a regular weekend hideaway for me. It is truly one of the only 5-star hotels in the country. The sevice is professional and impeccable. Very friendly staff. A great location in Hammamet with a great view on the bay, right on the beach. It has 2 open swimming-pools and one covered one, several bars and live music in the evening. The rooms are clean, well decorated with plenty of cupboards and drawers. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. Food is also excellent. Quite unique in Tunisia, there is a very good Thai restaurant, which used to be run by an authentic Thai chef. It is also at a walking distance from the old Hammamet on the beach. A definite address to recommend highly.
