“Peaceful, Relaxed stay in beautiful Villa”
Reviewed July 2, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This was our second visit to Kalkan, having previously stayed in the Kalamar Bay area. The Villa Kahili was far better situated for the market, supermarket and the many restaurants in downtown Kalkan all reached by an easy 5 -15 minute downhill walk. It was easy to get a taxi back uphill for approx. 12lira. The Villa Kahili was situated in a very pretty garden with a beautiful pool which was lovely for swimming and was immaculately kept by the pool man. The Villa was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable, we had many days relaxing in the peaceful garden by the pool. The Yali supermarket is very convenient and they will deliver you and your shopping free of charge. The transfers Sheila arranged for us were excellent with a careful and considerate driver who even carried our bags for us. We had a great holiday and certainly hope to visit the Villa Kahili again.

“Beautiful spacious villa in an ideal setting.”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

My husband and I have travelled to Kalkan on several occasions and this time we took our 25 year old daughter and her friend. We have always stayed in a villa for our holiday, but Villa Kahili was by far the best we have experienced.

The lay out of the villa is both practical and very private, and the garden is so very pretty with a canopied dining area which makes for some much welcomed shade to lunch under.

The villa is also ideally situated with a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre where some of the nicest restaurants we have ever eaten in can be found (and we are all complete foodies!). Our favourites are Coast and Augbergine on the harbour but there are literally hundreds to choose from! There are also supermarkets which offer a delivery service and whilst the walk back to the villa is uphill, it is only a short taxi ride. We found the walk much easier in the evening once the sun had gone down. Because the villa is set in the hillside it gives spectacular views out over the harbour and an evening glass of wine (or two!) on the roof terrace before taking a stoll down to the town for an evening meal is a particular treat.

Villa Kahili has everything you need for a very comfortable stay including very comfortable beds (a must for me having a bad back) and is clean and modern. Both the girls loved the pool and villa and although Kalkan is much quieter in May than when we have previously visited in September, they found late night bars to meet their 'party' needs and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We highly recommend Villa Kahili and are only sad that it is already booked for our return to Kalkan in September. Will definately be booking the villa early for our holiday next year!

“Beautiful villa in wonderful Kalkan”
Reviewed November 3, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

This was our first time in Turkey and we all had a fantastic time. The villa was even better than we were expecting and is really well equipped. Our children, aged 12 & 7 loved the pool area and all the space within the villa.
We organised our transfers from and to the airport via xpress as suggested by Sheila, they were very efficient and professional.
The villa is very well maintained, and is spotlessly clean. The pool man was very friendly and kept all the outside area really tidy, he even came to move all the sun lounger cushions under cover when it rained whilst we were out.
We had some lovely breakfasts / lunches on the shaded patio area, very peaceful, be careful with the kittens though, one shared my sons cereals when he left the table for two seconds! It also liked to share our sun loungers when we got up to go in the pool. We found that by not encouraging them, they realised they wouldn't be getting fed.
The rooms in the villa are all extremely spacious, especially the master bedroom which is huge and also boasts a wonderful balcony with gorgeous views.
We tried not to spend too long indoors but when we did, before going out for the evening usually, the children loved to watch the DVDs which they had brought and that are provided,(we would have preferred a few more English channels and the tv could be upgraded, but i suppose you don't go on holiday to watch tele).
Everyone has their favourite restaurants / bars in Kalkan so you really need to try them out yourselves but we cannot speak highly enough of our favourites which were Mussaka, Kalamaki and Baharat. We didn't have a meal in Aubergine but went there every night for our last drinks and the staff were all amazing, ignore the negative comments.
We have only been home a week and are already planning our return, can't wait !
Thank you Sheila for the use of your wonderful villa and for helping to make our holiday so special.

“Villa Kahili: Best Villa in Kalkan”
Reviewed September 4, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed at Villa Kahili for one week at the end of August 2012 and had an amazing time there. Kalkan is a great little find, full of character and charm and although a bit touristy, you never really notice as you can take it or leave it.

The villa sits atop the hill overlooking the town and has great views from the roof terrace out across the bay to enjoy the wonderful sunsets.
The villa is spacious, very clean and tidy with lovely touches like the whirlpool bath, outdoor dining areas and multiple balconies looking out to sea.
The private pool and sun patio area are by far the stand-out features.
The pool is maintained (daily) to a beautiful clean cool standard and perfect for when it gets too hot!
And don't worry about the famous walk back up the hill, it is a bit of a climb but it's not so bad if you take it nice and slow - and great exercise. If it's too much then, like everyone else has said, you can jump in a cab for a few lira.

Sheila was a very accommodating host and helped make everything very easy and relaxed, ensuring we had the best holiday imaginable.

Staying at Villa Kahili made our holiday in Turkey the perfect getaway, something we will remember forever.

Thanks again,

James and Ottilie

“A wonderful introduction to Kalkan”
Reviewed August 28, 2012 for a stay in June 2011

This was my first holiday in Turkey and I was very impressed with the delightful location of this superb villa, pool and garden,a blaze of brilliantly coloured Bourgainvillea on my arrival.
The villa is very well equipped to a high standard, with spotlessly clean and spacious rooms overlooking spectacular views of the bay and islands
This quaint and charming town is within easy reach on foot or by car. There is an abundance of shops and restaurants,as well as the many boat trips that can be booked----not to be missed
I spent a very relaxing week in luxurious surroundings and I shall certainly recommend this lovely holiday home to my friends

“Another fantastic holiday”
Reviewed July 24, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

My partner, myself and extended family have just returned from another wonderful holiday at the beautiful Villa Kahili. This is the 3rd year running that we have been and it always lives up to our high expectations. The villa was as pretty as ever and the gardens were still beautifully maintained and the pool crystal clear. The pool man does a wonderful job of keeping the pool area clean and tidy. It is hosed down every morning and the BBQ will be cleaned out if you have used it. The maids keep the villa in tip top condition and clean everything from top to bottom. The shaded dining area is a cool peaceful haven to relax after a day in the sun and enjoy a meal or drink. The roof terrace has wonderful views over Kalkan, and you can sit up there and enjoy a drink whilst watching the boats that come into Kalkan harbour before you go out or relax after you come back from a meal out.
The town of Kalkan itself is a like a little jewel. It offers all the shops you need to get food to cook at the villa or on the BBQ. If you dont feel like cooking then you are absolutely spoilt for choice with roof top restaurants offering a wonderful array of food to suit all budgets.
The town of Kalkan and the people will stay in your heart and like myself and my partner you will want to come back for more. We will be booking to return next year and already we cant wait to get back to the beautiful Villa Kahili and Kalkan town.

“Can't fault this villa”
Reviewed June 24, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We had a really wonderful time and absolutely loved this villa. Normally I find there are things not right or missing when we rent accommodation but we couldn’t fault Villa Kahili; The owners had thought o feverything. The whole house was tastefully decorated, it was light and spacious, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and that Jacuzzi bath was great to wallow in. The information book was nice and clear – we’ve struggled on many occasions with frustratingly complicated dishwashers, washing machines and air-con remotes etc where no instructions had been left. But the instructions here were simple and very easy to follow. There was a phone we could use to ring the agent or to book local restaurants, saving us making expensive calls on our mobile. There was plenty of shade and choice of seating outside and the pool man, who was quite unobtrusive, kept everything spotlessly clean. Loved sitting outside for our lunches in the shade.

We loved Kalkan and ate out 11 nights out of 12 , trying a different restaurant every night and every single one of them was good quality. It was brilliant for me, being a vegetarian, to have a whole page of choices wherever we went. We hired a car for the whole time so were able to explore the area. We went to Kas, Fethiye, Patara beach, two or three drives inland through the mountains, Saklikent, Tlos, Kayakoyu and two trips over to Palm Beach Club. Oh , and a Turkish Bath experience.

We very rarely make return trips to places we’ve been to as we like to always go somewhere new but we liked Kalkan and this villa so much we’ve decided we’d like to go back. So if it's still being rented out in a couple of years time the owners will be hearing from us.
