We have been coming to Kalkan for many years and said at some point we must stay at the Regency hotel ,
We perhaps were expecting more as people always said how lovely it was. That being said the hotel is very nice and staff and management did go out of there way to make you enjoyed your stay. But we felt because a lot of people went every year probably the same weeks it felt like you were not in the club and there was nowhere to escape and sit on your own for a drink in truth it was claustrophobic the pool area was lovely but nowhere to go for a drink except the poolside restaurant. I felt the area was too full and not enough grounds to walk round . It’s a nice hotel and any problems are sorted out straight away but some areas are slightly dated but the views are lovely from the bar terrace shame it’s not open all day . This is just our feelings and am sure most people who go enjoy there stay. Overall we would recommend this hotel.

The views from the bar and terrace - just stunning! A fabulous setting for a romantic dinner, even if there are more than just the two of you and if you get chance try one of the specialist nights you won't be disappointed. A brilliant location to celebrate a special occasion with accommodation among the best in Kalkan.
The family team at the Regency always go that extra mile for you.

Please make no mistake, the Regency is an excellent hotel, we loved our stay there and very much hope to return in the future.

However, I can understand that it might not appeal to everyone as it has a very comfortable 'home from home' feeling rather than luxurious. You get an incredibly warm welcome when you arrive and this really sets the tone for the time you spend there. Nothing is too much trouble, all the staff do everything they can to make you stay as enjoyable as possible. Its family run with Donulay directing the hotel day to day but both mum and dad are around most days. Its also worth remembering that the hotel can only be booked through Simpson Travel (who we thought were great both when booking and the rep in the hotel) and so that does mean that the hotel residents will almost certainly be Brits. Having said that, Kalkan is a real draw for Brits with many returning year after year.

We stayed in one of the pool suites (Virgo) and it was lovely. A huge room with a patio area and a small pool to cool off when the heat gets a little too much. The view from the sitting area in the room and patio are incredible. The room is large, as is the bathroom with both a bath & shower. There is a TV (not that we ever turned it on) and small mini bar (they provide a couple of bottles of free water every day).

There is a lovely breakfast area which is outside and covered and for breakfast there are all the usuals of fresh fruit, yogurts, breads (option to make toast) and a hot buffet with eggs or pancakes cooked to order. There is obviously tea & coffee with the option of Turkish tea (and a big thanks to the breakfast team and in particular Onder who served me numerous cups every day….most of them without ever being asked !).

We tended to eat out most evenings as it's only a 10minute walk into Kalkan and we can recommend Kalamaki (excellent but one of the more expensive), Mussakka (good), Sunset (great food and the owner is an experience) and Sade (our favourite of the week). We did attend the buffet evening at the hotel at the food was very good as was the entertainment (which consisted mainly of the waiters dancing the night away and encouraging everyone to join them).

The bar area, although small, has some of the best views in Kalkan so definitely worth a pre dinner drink even if you are heading out to eat.

The gulet cruise is a must - as others have said it's not cheap but it's the largest gulet in the harbour and the family limit those on the boat to just 18 so there's loads of space - a great day out.

The hotel offer free WiFi and the signal is great throughout.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Kalkan and much of that was due to the team at the Kalkan regency - a big thank you to all of them and hopefully we will be back.

If you want a holiday in a spotlessly clean hotel that is well run by a family that are rightly proud of what they offer. if you want great service, food, facilities. If you want staff where whatever you want nothing is too much trouble. If you want amazing views from great rooms and garden then this is the hotel for you. Cannot recommend this place highly enough simply TOP CLASS. To Dolunay and his team thank you!
