We stayed at the newer building of Helen hotel a couple of weeks ago. I was most impressed by the staff. Everyone was so friendly and very helpful, from Ali the manager to the gentleman who was working during breakfast. The food provided at breakfast was good and plentiful, make sure you try the pepper paste if you enjoy spicy food, it was so good. The location is terrific. You can arrive by bus or ferries, it's just a couple of minutes walk away - you can see the sign for the hotel from where the bus drops you off - just make sure you look for it before you start walking (we didn't look hard enough and missed it so our walk took a bit longer, and felt like fools when we finally saw the sign). The clock tower is pretty much around the corner. The horse is 5-10 mins away. All in all, a super convenience hotel.

The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the room was a bit small... it's a clean & basic room, which is all we wanted anyway.

We stayed over one night at the Helen after visiting the Troy ruins. The room was clean and spacious (we were in the new building). The breakfast was good, the staff attentive, and the location, near tour and bus companies, and a couple hundred meters from the waterfront, was ideal. Thumbs up!

The hotel is 1 min to the bus station and ferry port and it's very easy to reach anywhere. but I found the hotel itself really depressing with dark and old interior. The air conditioning was too cold and I called reception number of times but they didn't speak English so in the end I slept with air conditioning off which was not so pleasant. Wifi was very unstable and difficult to figure out. Overall don't expect 3 star hotel.

Uninspiring from outside - but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Management and staff friendly and helpful. Good position to explore the town.

We booked this hotel directly to their email address and surprisingly the answer was very prompt from the manger himself, who's a very fine and educated person.
Im must underline from the begining that this hotel has 2 separate buildings: the initial one with smaller rooms, with a ruther clasic style and the modern one with larger rooms and deffinately nice and stylish aspect.
Both buildings belong to Hotel Helen, but the new one has been named Hotel Helen PARK, even thou for both locations reservations are ensured by Hotel Helen.
Please note that the hotel photos shown on the page of booking.com belong to the new building.
Anyway, I shall attach some photos here from both accomodations, so that users could see how do they look like.
We stayed for 2 nights (first on arrival in Turkey and second on departure) one in each location, and I could only say that the rooms in the ""old"'one were smaller with a little bit outdated bathrooms. As for the rest, we had all we could wish for: Lcd Tv, air conditioning, confortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms, varied breakfast, free parking, free wi-fi.
We left Hoten Helen with a wonderfull taste of pleasent accomodation for reasonable price.

Stayed for one night as part of a package to Gallipoli and Troy.
Rooms are small but clean and tidy.Breakfast was very good.
The Hotel is located centrally and within walking distance of the Ferry Terminal,Naval Museum(which is well woth a visit) and retaurants etc.Directly across the road was a very nice cafe.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Our baggage was held for us after check out until the ferry left.
Our room was in the building that fronted the main street and we disagree with a previous post that mentions that a cheaper crowd stay there. We are not a cheaper crowd and found our room very good.
My wife really liked this hotel and I found it very good.
We would stay again-it is a greatr staging post for trips to Troy.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has secure parking - very useful when on-street is so hard to find. And within a short hop of the ferries and the waterfront.
