Been there last year for a business trip. Very freshly-made, delicious künefe was served at reasonable price. Thanks!

So far this is the best kunefe I found in Mersin. This desert is delicious but cannot be eaten too often. It is made with kadayif dough with a special cheese inside, deeped in syrup after it is baked, not to mention the butter that goes in it.

I had never tried Künefe before, but I was told this is one of the best places in Turkey to try this incredible dessert. It's made of soft, creamy cheese doused in syrup and crumbled pistachio nuts. This dish is also sometimes called Kanafeh and is made by taking a portion of semolina dough and heating it up in butter and spreading over a soft white cheese, such as Nabulsi, then covering it with more dough. A thick syrup of sugar, water and a few drops of rose water or orange blossom water is poured on the dessert during the final minutes of cooking. As a garnish, crushed pistachios are sprinkled on top. This dish is a real taste of Turkey, however it is incredibly rich and filling. I suggest you go on a long walk around Mersin and explore the fascinating back streets first, to build up an appetite.

One of the best producers of local dessert of Mersin. This light sweet is served with boiled sweet water poured in the dish upon request.
