So am fully supporting previous opinions. At the beginning of our stay the situation was terrible , just after arival we were waiting two hours at the reception because no possibilioty to enter the rooms due to computer sytem break down, during the first week of our stay we sufer a lot with arrogant service which prefered the local turist and dirty condition of the holet as well as no animation activbities . The situation slightly change after owner change ( hotel has changed its name to Alkoclar ) which took place in second week of our stay .So in spate of visible improvement especialy in term of hotel environment cleanness and service quality the condytion was still not reaching 4 stars requiremnets . The hotel is still in transition period so I am curious about future of it .Location and surroundings of this hotel is perfect so I will be glad to come back to this hotel just aftre the improvemmnet will be acomplished and condition get stabilise . Lets wait for next year opinions . Good luck Alkoclar.

We arranged 2 weeks holiday but after 3rd day, started begging to our travel agent (Tatil Sepeti; but never any holiday with them again, showed zero interest to solve our issues) to change our hotel and on the 10th day, we succeeded to move and rescued from nightmare.
Hotel simply bankrupted (legal case between the owner and management company). Staff not paid for months and the few ones stayed there were with the hope to to get their money. No motivation and heavily understaffed hotel had the worst of everything. Be ready to;
1) help cleaning the tables at the restaurant if you want to sit. At our last day 4 more staff resigned and only left 3 waiters were trying to serve 500 people
2) have your own disposable plates and cutleries otherwise you have to eat with dirty ones (not a joke, they just rinse with water and bring them back like cleaned ones but you find anything others have eaten
3) exercise stairs (during our 9 days stay, there was only one lift functioning as other was broken and not repaired for days, staff were using the same lift as theirs was broken for months). I did not mind but to carry my new born daughters buggy 4 floors can be an excellent work out.
4) pay money for staff that are under all inclusive list (Turkish coffee was charged though it is non alcoholic beverage and covered under all inclusive package. The explanation given to us is; as hotel is under crisis therefore under staffed, they decided to charge Turkish coffee as it takes time to prepare. At least, they are honest)
5) sleep at dirty rooms or clean by yourself. (my wife chose the second option).
6) to any surprises. Food is ok but once something is finished, no replacement.

When we complained to guest relation, they simply told us that the hotel is bankrupted, have lots of issues, they were at the news and this is the best the hotel management can do.
Pity as the location is beautiful and one of the closest hotel to surfing area.
If you think that I am exaggerating believe me, what I wrote is even not half of what we have experienced. But Solto hotel (next door but more expensive) is 5 times better. If you can not afford, don't waste your money with Suzer but choose a boutique hotel in Alacati.

Hotel review as follows:

Appearance and Cleanliness: hotel looks ok. Rooms large and spacious and decorated ok. It was refurbished in last few years but they have cut corners. ie rather than replace bath and toilets they painted them white?!?!? strange as this is now pealing and yellow. They seriously need to vacuum an mop the floors in the rooms as there is lots of sand which mean you need to wipe your feet when you hop into bed.

Location: on the beach in a quiet area about 3km from Alicate. Great for windsurfing and ocean outfront is sheltered and slopes down very gradually so great for kids. You will need a car or be stuck in resort. Alicate is fabulous for cafes, shopping and markets (5 min) and Dalyan for amazing fish on the water front and is only 10 min away.

Food: awesome, very fresh and tasty turkish food. No pie and chips here!

Clientelle: 80% turkish. We were only english speakers with a few germans and russians

Child safety: the pool is unfenced but you are aware of this. There are no lifeguards. What concerned us is that there are big pieces of a fence missing behind bushes within the childrens playground / creche area. Behind his is another pool! We left our little ones play on swings and slides as we thought it was safe. It is not. On the third night we couldnt find them and then found them splashing each other on edge of this other pool which no one can see. it is only a matter of time before the unthinkable happens here unless this sort of thing is sorted. Also quite a few loose wires and things in toilets by beach.

Noise: the central area is quite noisy and it travels up. We were in a room which didnt face this central area so noise ok for us. others we know were on central part and the noise was every night till min 11pm some nights till after 3am. With shouting and laughter. After numerous complaints our friends were furious at getting distrurbed every night and hotel management allowing it to continue.

Cost: Hotel is reasonably priced for the area. the all inclusive costs we paid to agent were acceptable. However everything else is ridiculously priced. a coffee is EUR5, suntan cream EUR25, massages EUR55 (more than home). We couldnt work out why it was so expensive. If a masage was EUR30 or coffee was EUR2 or even 3 we probably would have had 10 of each, as it was we had none. And we sat here everyday seeing the staff have no customers.

So all in all ok, you get what you pay for. Could be great reasonably priced holiday for families if they could clean the place better, control the noise and fix the safety issues.

The hotel is located 3 km away from the center of Alacati. The water is a little colder comparing to other well-known shores of Turkey like Bodrum and Kemer. And it is windy for sure which makes hot summer days endurable, I believe. If you are interested in windsurfing, there are places around where you can hire a windsurf or have a tutor. The hotel is preferable if your wish is to benefit from the sea in all terms. Rooms were okay. The buffet offers options for people with different tastes.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2009

We got lucky and got a fantastic deal (geared towards local weekenders) in April and overall I thought it was a fun 4 night stay, but we also had problems.

The Good:

The hotel is directly on the beach, though it was not clear how much of the beach is theirs ... water was too cold to fight over beach spots anyways, but kiddo had a blast playing in the sun and he eventually even got all wet.

The room was nice and very standard .. a 4 star hotel really should have something better than 14" CRT TVs ... while we had the all inclusive package, the minibar would have been charged extra .. weird. (And they do not allow you to bring drinks upstairs ... even more weird)

The food was all around good and plenty (while relying in cheap things like chicken and fatty fish) with some not so great stuff (Manti without meat filling?) But we could always have plenty of veggies and salads .. which was very nice.

Service was rather average, which I expected for the off season, but we had one waiter, Emre, who not only spoke English very well, but was also a fine example of how service should be done ... cudos to him ..

I did not expect the kid's club to be up and running, and it really wasn't, but for Saturday night, when the hotel was full of people from Izmir, they had hired two animators and our son was very happy, though it was all in Turkish, but even the day after he would ask to go to his new school ... (but nobody was there)

The Bad:

When you get a fairly cheap all inclusive deal, they try to minimize cost by not asking you if you want another drink and being pedantic about 23:00 the all inclusive bar is closed ... there was one lady at the bar (no name tag, so maybe higher ranking) who was especially nasty to me.

Free wifi is nice .. when it works .. the overall connection was ok, but we had to change rooms once .. and then the connection was gone.

A 6 story hotel with 400+ beds is seriously underserved by only 2 elevators with max 4 people capacity.

The "Beer Haven" bar, the only indoor place you can smoke, has the most uncomfortable lighting I have ever seen .. feels like an interrogation room.

Location, if you do not have a car, sucks .. you are stuck at the hotel .. or you figure out the Dolmus system to go to town .. and then rent a scooter .. which seems fum

Spa: pricing way too expensive .. so .. not used .. the thermal pool on the other hand is very nice.

The Ugly:

We had arrived on Friday and there was some event going on .. and they were partying until 12:30 .. and then another hour of clean up noise ... sound travels easily all the way from the event hall through the atrium to the rooms .. it sounds like you left the door open .. my wife called 3 times about it and got stupid, demeaning replies and the promise that this does not happen every night ... what bugged me was that they had closed the bar for guests at 11PM .. while there was a huge party going on that hotel guests were not invited to, so .. you had fun with the noise but you were totally left out ...

Now .. similar thing happened the next night .. this time it was just the fact that the place was 99% packed with locals and they wanted to party all saturday night .. this time my wife got the very helpful recommendation to just drink some more Raki to fall asleep .. very professional ..

So .. I complained next day and our request for a more quiet room was handled with no further issues (other than i lost the wifi)

Summary: I would only return to this place if it was again off season and that killer deal we got .. otherwise .. i don;t want to know what that must be like in July / August ... but the hotel seems to be fully booked by German and British tour groups .. so I don;t think they even care much about review like these ...

If you don;t mind crowds, buffet style food, want to wind surf .. you could actually have quite some fun there .. but bring ear plugs!

We also found that Alacati is actually a nicer place to check out than Cesme .. beautiful market on Saturdays
