Ok, so you are in the Hamptons and expect to pay dearly for all the food that you consume and anything else that you do. Once you accept this fact, you can sit back and enjoy this (overpriced) family-friendly classic American experience. This clam bar is off the side of historic Montauk Highway. You can eat clams (obviously) but also big chunks of fish on top of salads and great sweet potato fires. It is fun to sit outside in a crowded popular place. Yellow is the theme color. And excellent 80s music is in the air.

Seemingly, a converted hotdog or ice cream shack right off the street which now serves seafood on paper plates with plastic forks/knives at mid to high prices.
The four of us dined in the evening. Seafood was good and so was the lobster roll which was outrageously expensive for what you get.
On the other hand in my judgement this location works for drinks and appetizers.

Have been coming to Clam Bar since childhood and it’s gotten nicer (and tastier?) with the evolution of sophisticated Montauk. There’s nothing like pulling up in your car, barefoot or not, and ordering fresh seafood with your feet in the sand. We love their chowders, the grilled tuna sandwich, fried clam bellies, cherrystones, lobster and steamers. Everything is fresh, the service is friendly and there are no judgements – come straight from the beach. A special summer spot.

Fresh lobster in a delish salad and on a Martins potato roll adds up to the BEST lobster rolls in the Hamptons. Tuna bites were amazing as well. They just added a short "wine list" with Prosecco too. Our counter server Joe was the best. Highly recommend!!
