2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2011

Just got back from 5 nights in this hotel.
The hotel is about 40mins drive from Dubai airport, it cost about £40 one way in a taxi.
We arrived at 3am; the front desk said I needed to pay for a room, even though I had paid for the room through lastminute.com. This confusion lasted about 20minutes, and then they said they had the paperwork, and showed us to the room. But you don’t need this after a long flight at 3am!!
The next day we got the free shuttle bus to the beach, the driver asked us what time he should pick us up, we said 3pm, he arrived at 4.45!!
The swimming pool is nice, but most of the time it’s in the shade.
The rooms are clean, however one day our room was not cleaned even though we had left the "clean our room" sign on the door.
The food in the hotel is very nice and of a reasonable price, probably the best thing about the hotel!
Overall I would probably not stay here again.

We were doing a visa run at the Omani border so we decided to make a mini-family-weekend out of it and booked this hotel for its Ice Land Water Park promo.

We actually thought the locale was perfect.
It was a quick drive from Dubai to check-in then we did our "run" and got back just in time for some comfy R&R before our morning at the water park.
It was a fantastic half-way point for us.

-The decor is palatable for the price & for RAK ;)
-They had a good bar in the lobby for our adult son AND a play room for our toddler son...lol...so everyone was happy ;)
-The room was fine, bed comfortable, could have been a litttttle bit cleaner tho.
-Nice shower.
-We had an entertaining view of the pool in 0051...ask for it.
-Phone reservations were really easy & informative too (thanks "Vicky", for the very thorough info)
-Oh, it was a huge SHAME that the gift shop was never opened on a FRIDAY...we all had our faces pressed on the glass admiring some of the little things inside. The staff said its independently operated and they didn't know if it would open or how we could make purchases :(

The breakfast buffet was great. We are such critics but were quite impressed with the quality of some of the offerings...the best tomatoes we have ever had here (its a regional thing) and the cappuccino was great. The room is very nice & well decorated. Very fresh & great quality for a buffet of this type...we were surprised. The baby even at good! The service staff was so smiley & helpful too...esp as our toddler spent the entire breakfast conning his way out of the chair and stealing their serving tongs & accessories...on that note, ALL of the staff were super nice, personable, presentable, and had a personal touch & sense of humor.

The hotel was RIGHT around the corner from the water park and on the way a Spinneys and a great Al Aswaq market (for any of those lil last minute things for the day at the park) on the short drive there in the am.

This hotel really surprised us for the price we paid (which included family water park tickets).
We had a really fun mini-weekend and did our due visa run all in the process.

The water park was a blast (no, not at all better than Wild Wadi, but it was still fun).

Thank you Acacia Hotel for a much-needed little break from Dubai for our whole family. ;)
We will be back!

Room Tip: They offer transport services for a fee (saw a price list on display in the lobby)

I thought i try this hotel, which had great deal.
Mistake, because now i know why they have such offers.
It is more like a motel.
There are so many hotels on the beach in RAK, no need to try to stay in the industrial area!

The hotel has a good ambiance and staff are friendly. The management of this hotel makes sure that guest are well entertained with their variety of events. Rooms are standard but reasonably clean. Few restaurants and bar but with reasonable price... (buffet bfast is good but the que is a bit long) They have good pool size which they also utilised for party. This hotel is tied up with Ice Land Waterpark which makes the deal absolutely great! Shuttle bus are also available for the guest to & fro the waterpark. The down sides of Acacia Hotel is the location (it's not in main road but not that far though). Since we were there during holidays, the check-in & check-out time takes really long due to ques... they just need to add more front desk receptionists to facilitate this service. Else, everything is fine.

Room Tip: I've seen the twin and queen size rooms and it's average in size...

our family used to book almost every weekend in this hotel because of the iceland promotion instead of going dirctly to iceland you can enjoy at the same time in the hotel for almost the same price and free breakfast. very good package for the family. the staff are friendly . the bad thing in the hotel is not good place no view it must be near the beach or near the icelnd to have a good view but everythign is very good inside the hotel. the hotel is beautiful and the room is beautiful also.

the improtant thing is you have two place to enjoy at the same time iceland and thehotel.

I appreciate the management of this hotel as they are not greedy for money but they are more of happiness of people going to their hotel. It is really unbelievable to have 300dirhams room with ice land entrance since i came up to know that iceland ticket is 150 dirhams. I cannot beleive from my friend when they said 300 with iceland and breakfats for two it is really UNBELIEVABLE and the hotel is very beautiful plus the service is really excellent nothing to compalin everybody is happy except during arival that we need to wait long time because the room is not ready and the location is hard to find.

over all experience is APPROVED! very nice food and very nice people. The bar also is open for non muslim during ramadan. very nice...i like it very much. I hope the hotel continues to serve the average people with their average rate.

very good... approved.. approved always.... very nice... very happy guests..
