This hotel is close to the beach. The beds were very hard and I had to change rooms since it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The staff gave us a recommendation of a tailor which OVERCHARGED us a lot (stupid us paid). Don't follow their recommendations. Their are a lot of rats in the hotel as well. The small pool was good after a long day. The long cab ride into town got expensive after a few days. I heard other travelers talking and there are cheaper places in the area to stay.

Room Tip: not worth it

This is the worst hotel we stayed during a period of 3 weeks in Viet nam. I can only call it a guest house and not a hotel. When I did the booking it was even have a Resort title attached to its name. Well, this is no resort, the amenities are minimal and services are near non-existent. The breakfast was minimal and not up to standard (this is compared with breakfast being offered by other mini-hotels in Viet nam). This place appeared to be in a process of being repaired and bring a few things up to what they should be (such as when we left there were 2 computers being installed, may be for guests, we don't know). No grand lobby, just a front desk and some space for guest breakfast and sitting. This is a mini-hotel with lousy services and amenities. The staff appeared not knowing what they are doing. We never seen the shuttle bus (the only thing we saw was a piece of paper stating that there is a "free" shuttle services which costs $2-$3 per person per trip into town. How can they called it free? We also have a bad experience booking for a tour to the My son ruin through this hotel. Please read my comment on the Hoi an forum. The story a bit long to repeat here.

When I entered the room the first time it was full of dead bugs especially the bathroom! The guy that was bringing my bags was embarrassed and called immediately the cleaning lady. Well the beginning wasn't nice at all, but in the next days everything was fine from cleaning point of view. Other guests on my floor were a bit too noisy so I woke up each day pretty early. Breakfast is nice. I rented a bicycle (2$ when I used to pay only 1$ in other places) and went to Hoi An in around 20 minutes. There is a bus as well to go to Hoi An but it is not for free as it is written in the hotel!

You can't miss the place, as it's the tallest building over looking the beach (only a two minute walk). Five of us stayed on the 4th floor for two nights and found the S&S to be spacious, clean, comfortable and a great location with tremendous value for money. Whilst you dont expect a lot for $30 a night, this is right up there with "Western" 3 1/2 star establishments. They have a pool as well, but cutting laps in it would never happen as it's about 8 metres by 8 metres in size. Free Wi-Fi in all the rooms and a couple of PC's in the lobby get you access to the net.

A great little find is the little resteraunt immediatly to the left (next door) to the hotel, brilliant fresh food at low prices and the lady was a wealth of knowledge in things to do and see. We had them do our laundry for a dollar a kilogram and had it back washed, ironed and folded in a couple of hours. The 5 of us ate like kings and with drinks, we were out of pocket less than $30 each time.

When we arrived, our receptionist was very helpful in having us relax as soon as possible. Our bed was huge and our bathroom was very clean. Had we had more time, we would've used the bath. Our "cockpit" of switches next to the bed made for an interesting lucky dip experience.

We were intially disappointed that our balcony faced the road and not the river, however when we inspected the view that we were missing out on, we didn't mind so much. Traffic noise wasn't a problem as this town shuts down early. We decided to use the Laundry Service here and had approximately 30 garments washed for $8USD. There is something amazing about the detergent they used as the smell is still noticable now, even after our clothes have been washed again.

We paid $30 p/night and compared to the hotels nearby, this was a steal. The Cua Dai Beach is a 1 minute walk and the centre of town a 10 minute bike ride. We were approximately 6 kms from the centre of Hoi An, so we hired bikes from next door ($7USD for a full day - we may have gotten cheaper if we bargained) and had a leisurely ride in to town both days we were there. The ride in to town is flat and very scenic.

If you like a lot of bread then the breakfast options are for you. We ate our first breakfast here - it was very adequate - however we walked across the road to MR MYs restaurant for his Pineapple Pancake speciality the next morning. In fact we had 3 meals here during our stay as it was very cheap, delicious and MR MY himself was very friendly.

The facilities mentioned on wotif.com doesn´t match the reality; no gym, spa, heated pool etc.
Outside the hotel, electricity and scooters makes it very noisy...
The rooms are badly isolated which gave a powerful draught/draft
In general the hotel hasn´t been renovated in a loong time
only 70% of the breakfast menu is available
The staff was friendly

Once again 'wotif' had all the listed features incorrect (probably the motels fault though).

This was excellent value when compared to say a 4 star hotel at a half price special on the gold coast in Australia.

Sauna was NOT there
There WERE no tea and coffee making facilities,
and the 'free shuttle bus' cost $2!

Thanks again wotif for listing services that didn't exist.
