Kempinski Hotel Aqaba Red Sea
Ranked #2 of 41 Hotels in Aqaba
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 27 March 2012

We spent a one week winter holiday in Hotel Kempinski on the first week of March. The hotel was perfect 5 stars, everything we needed:
- Rooms were modern, clean and spacious and included a free minibar! The bathroom was lovely and had a separate shower and a bath! It had a glass wall but curtains as well if you needed a bit more intimacy.
- Service was excellent. From the first day on the staff even remembered your name! You got all the attention you wanted but also the privacy which was nice. Even the towel was settled for your sundeck by the pool (which was a bit too much for my taste).
- Food was very nice. We had breakfast every morning and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had e.g. the oranges and grape fruits were served without any skin on the fruit flesh which was quite luxurious. We had two dinner buffets; the mid-eastern style and italian-style and enjoyed them very much. The reastaurant even had a wine buffet!
- Other services and facilities were nice; we used both the gym and the spa and enjoyed them very much.
- Aqaba itself was a bit of a disappointment. The town centre was very quiet, full of sad, empty restaurants and too active taxi drivers wanting to to sell you all kinds of trips around the country.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a balcony and a sea view! Enjoy. :)

This hotel is absolutely fab and if I were to come here again I would stay here over any other hotel. Its so well done, clean and rooms really comfy and huge. Great views though to.
Food is expensive though.
What Did bug me about hotel is the bathrooms! The bathroom including the toilet is totally visible from the room through a large window. Even though I was traveling with my husband I felt far from happy being able to see him on the toilet. There is a curtin- but it's see through. Why not make it not see through for those not happy with the lack of privacy. I find this lack of privacy really off putting. Perhaps there are rooms with good curtains into the bathroom. I notice a number of other reviewers have said similar things about bathroom.
Great stay otherwise!

Spent four delightful nights at the hotel, an absolute pleasure.
The hotel is a beautiful piece of architecture the finishes are quite stunning I am sure it draws envious glances from guests at the nearby hotels.
Its obviously designed so one can always see the sea from inside the building. It was great to take a bath and continue too enjoy a sea view.
Super bedrooms cleanliness and service excellent reception and conciere service could not be better.
Food very good just one complaint the restaurant staff are over zealous and their eagerness to keep the tables clear meant that if you both visited the buffet at the same time you risked the table being cleared and relaid on your return, a bit of not needed pressure.
A very good experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Aqaba.
Thank you Michael and Susan

Room Tip: All rooms look out to the sea for some reason I was advised by reception at the Kempinsky Dead sea...

This hotel was absolutely brilliant in every way. The rooms are big and spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpfull and polite. The swimmingpool was also stunning.

The seaside view from our room was very nice. The location of the hotel is fine, at walking distance from the citycentre.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone. I totally loved it.

Very nice modern, clean hotel. One does not actually feel that you are in Jordan while being inside of the hotel. The staff is very professional and friendly. You hardly notice them :-)) We travelled with Swedish Apollo and I think that the charter trip was worth the money, however everything inside the hotel is quite expensive. There were not so many people staying at the hotel (may be we travelled to Jordan off-season, i do not know .-))) therefore it was a bit boring, since there is not much to do neither at the hotel, nor in Aqaba, but I kinda knew that so we took the week off just to relax and take it easy, so Aqaba and Kempinski are perfect for that!
The room was nice, clean, modern with free minibar and the cleaning lady came twice (!) a day - to clean in the mornings and then to prepare the room for night time, very kind of them :-))) all rooms have a sea view, so you do not need to pay extra to have a view and the sounds of the Red Sea is so amazingly romantic!!! I loved having a cup of tea with cookies at the bar in evenings, looking at the sea (and the giant Aqaba Flag) :-)))) That is one of the best 5 star hotels I've been to. Jordan is so much better than its "neighbour" Egypt!
We'll definitely go back to Jordan, Aqaba and Kempinski!

I spent a couple of days in Kempinski Aqaba. The hotel is spotlessly clean and service excellent as is the view from all rooms. Breakfast was normal good standard for a 5 star hotel as was the food at the beach restaurant. Because of off-season the night club was closed but other than that, a very good experience.

Room Tip: All rooms have a magnificent sea view.

Architecturally minimalistic, this luxury hotel has excellent service, plenty of in-house restaurants, an all-day self-service buffet style restaurant with a huge choice of tasty local and international food, a complete spa, wonderfully long horizon pool and plenty of loungers to sit around the pools or by the sea. The beach area is private, so you can't really go for a stroll, but the rooms are very comfortable and the staff efficient and very friendly. Try to avoid the rooms above the restaurant wing which have only a partial sea view. We went mid-March and found the hotel quiet, well located for a walk into town, and easy to reach Petra (2 hours) and Wadi Rum (1 hour) by car.

Room Tip: Rooms above the restaurant wing (west side of the hotel) have a partial sea view only from the balco...
