Generally speaking the food was ok but the service (apart from one waiter) was very poot indeed. They had warned us that there would be a waiting time and got our drinks fairly promptly. The 'scallops gratin' starter was not a gratin at all and was more like melted cheese. As any scallop lover would know, this completely overpowered the dish. This made us think that the chef had no idea what gratin is. Whilst some people were still eating their starters, the main courses arrived (even for those people who were still eating their starters!). From this, one can only assume that there is little communication between the chef and the waiting on team. This mean that some main courses sat being warmed, therefore becoming overcooked. One of these dishes was the 'teriyaki tuna steak'. A knife wouldn't go through the tuna, the vegetables were uncooked and the teriyaki sauce certainly wasn't made from scratch. Surely the chef should know that a tuna steak can't sit being warmed?! The 1st waiter to address the problem didn't understand what was wrong. Thankfully the main waiter can over, apologised and we shared dishes instead of ordering more. They obviously didn't put this on the final bill and they did provide our whole party a drink by way of an apology. There seemed to be one member of staff who actually knee what he was doing. We were not the only table with these problems that evening. Several people had made complaints. It is a shame as the majority of the food was ok and the mixed seafood grill was good but the timings were all wrong and the perhaps some training in the basics is required.
