I stayed one night. The location is good. The room was nice and clean but simple and old furniture. The bathroom was very clean and the modern toilet had a system that heats the seat. No breakfast but free coffee at the lobby was convenient. The staff was very nice.

We stayed 2 nights in washitu, japanese-style room with small kid. It was almost ryokan type, and all the amenities are provided, and the room is clean and comfortable. 3 sets of futon mat were already unfolded, ready to lie down and take rest.

Stayed here for two nights. It's a basic hotel, small rooms like everywhere in Japan, fortunately very quiet, so we got a good night sleep. Wifi was free and worked fine. The staff was friendly but English was a bit limited. Free coffee automat in the lobby was nice, also the location near the station is good. No breakfast but there are Lawsons and Seven Elevens near by. Takayama is a nice small city to a few days visit and this hotel gives a nice and quite reasonably priced place to stay.

Coming out of the Jr Takayama train station turn left and head up to the traffic lights, turn right (crossing the street),head down one block and take your first left. You will see the hotel on your right about 30 meters.
I paid $50.00US/night (including taxes) on Booking.com booking 2.5 months in advance for a single room. The small bed, pillows, linen were comfortable, but the room and bathroom are just too small for more than one night. The hotel A/C was off so I had to sleep with the window open, as the room was too hot. The wired in room internet was very slow with no wifi in the rooms. A refrigerator, kettle, green tea is supplied, (no safe in room). There is a microwave on every floor. The TV had no real English channels to speak of, but you can buy a daily movie/ satellite card in the vending machine. The location is excellent, near the JR Takayama train/bus station and walking distance to most tourists sites, restaurants, convenience stores. There is a excellent supermarket about 4 blocks away (Boss Foods). Staff were friendly and attentive, and there was always someone in attendance who spoke English. There is excellent free coffee from an espresso machine in the lobby. There is no restaurant in the hotel.

All right for a night but not much more – astonished that in this day and age the hotels thinks its OK not to put wi-fi in the rooms. There is a hard LAN wire in the bedroom but wi-fi is only available close to Reception. This is a shame because the hotel is well situated, close to the JR station and within easy walking distance to the old Sanmachi Suji historical street area. All of this at a good price. In the common areas are ice machines and microwaves should you wish to heat up your own food. In the lobby there is free tea and coffee. In the room you can heat water to make your own tea. Ask at Reception for additional toiletries. They have a car park at the back for an extra fee. It is clean, but generally the hotel feels in need of modernisation and putting that wi-fi in would be a good place to start
