This was our first Japanese style accommodation during our round trip of Japan. We stayed here for 2 nights, on a dinner, bed & breakfast rate plan.
Afterwards, we stayed in more luxurious and expensive ryokans. Have to say, however, that we were very satisfied with this minshuku for several reasons.
First of all reasons, the price is very competitive : we had a good size room (8 tatami) which was very clean and a nice view over Takayama towards the mountains. Food was served in another room, where we met other guests( mostly Japanese) and exchanged smiles and gestures... Some really made the effort to come and have a little chat, ask where we are from etc... all very nice. Food, by the way, was very good value for money > a very good introduction to kaiseki, served by very charming ladies. Note that breakfast is also Japanese style.... just telling that, since we were happy at the ryokans that followed to be able to have a Western breakfast.
Really nothing to criticise about... A perfect place with friendly people and a outstanding Japanese hospitality. Very much recommended !More
